Ainsley Hamill – Live at The Met
Friday 14 November | 8:00 PM | The Box @ The Met
£17 (inc fees)
Described by RnR Magazine as “one of the best of her generation,” Ainsley Hamill brings her rich, evocative voice and bold storytelling to The Met for an intimate evening of contemporary and traditional folk music.
Hailing from the west coast of Scotland, Ainsley is celebrated for her distinctive and emotive vocal style, often likened to a blend of Heather Small and Julie Fowlis. Seamlessly weaving Gaelic, Scots, and English lyrics with a modern sensibility, she draws deeply from her roots while boldly carving out her own creative path.
This special performance comes ahead of the release of her much-anticipated third studio album, Fable—a powerful collection of songs inspired by Scottish folklore, myth, and landscape. Produced by Sam Kelly, the album features collaborations with Alistair Iain Paterson, Toby Shaer, Signy Jakobsdottir, and Euan Burton, and explores timeless stories with a contemporary musical edge.
Ainsley will be joined on stage by two of folk’s most acclaimed musicians:
Sam Kelly – BBC Radio 2 Folk Award-winner and celebrated singer-songwriter/producer, known for his soulful voice and instrumental brilliance.
Toby Shaer – A gifted multi-instrumentalist who has performed with Cara Dillon and Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys, bringing expert musicianship on flute, fiddle, and guitar.
Together, the trio promise a spellbinding night of rich harmonies, heartfelt storytelling, and musical mastery, blending tradition with innovation in a way that only the very best in folk music can.
With accolades including BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year finalist, MG ALBA Gaelic Singer of the Year nominee, and international performances from Celtic Connections to Festival Interceltique de Lorient, Ainsley continues to enchant audiences at home and abroad.
Don't miss the chance to experience this extraordinary voice and the captivating soundscape of Fable, live at The Met.
