Though they grew up on opposite sides of the Atlantic, Catherine MacLellan and Lucy Farrell share a profound connection through their artistry, songwriting, and ability to transport listeners with the quiet brilliance of their music.
This special performance at The Box @ The Met brings together two internationally acclaimed voices in contemporary folk. Both known for their poetic lyricism and deeply emotive storytelling, Catherine and Lucy craft songs that explore landscapes, lives, and moments – weaving history, tradition, and personal experience with grace and depth.
Lucy Farrell, originally from Kent and now based in Canada, is celebrated for her unconventional and haunting songwriting style. Her minimalist approach on tenor guitar and viola creates a delicate, atmospheric backdrop for her mesmerising vocals. Lucy is known for her work with The Furrow Collective and has garnered acclaim alongside artists such as The Unthanks, Emily Portman, and Eliza Carthy.
Catherine MacLellan, a JUNO Award winner and ECMA Songwriter of the Year, hails from Prince Edward Island, Canada. With seven albums to her name and a career spanning two decades, her music is deeply rooted in the natural beauty and emotional richness of island life. Her songs explore the full spectrum of human experience — from joy and struggle to love and resilience — always with an honest, heartfelt touch.
Together, Catherine and Lucy bring a rare and captivating musical chemistry to the stage. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness two masterful songwriters in an intimate setting, sharing songs and stories that linger long after the last note fades.
