Join award-winning Welsh musician Georgia Ruth for an intimate evening of music at The Box @ The Met on Friday 16th May at 8:00 PM.
Hailing from Aberystwyth in west Wales, Georgia Ruth is known for blending folk traditions with contemporary influences to create a sound that is both timeless and uniquely her own. Her debut album, Week of Pines, won the Welsh Music Prize in 2013 and earned her nominations for two BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. She has also collaborated with major acts, including the Manic Street Preachers on their critically acclaimed album Futurology, which reached #2 in the UK Album Charts.
In 2024, Georgia returns with her fourth studio album, Cool Head – a heartfelt and atmospheric collection of songs inspired by wide-open Americana and 60s folk ballads. Named after a phrase her father used to encourage calm thinking, the album reflects a journey through emotional landscapes, described by Georgia as “a long drive through night into morning.”
Co-produced with long-time collaborator Iwan Morgan, Cool Head showcases Georgia’s growth as both a songwriter and storyteller.
Tickets are £18 (including fees) and promise an evening of deeply affecting music and connection in an intimate setting.
