Bury Gateway is a local charity that supports people with learning disabilities to make friends and enjoy a fun social life, in a safe environment and offer drop in sessions, weekly social nights and fun events for all that wish to attend.
The Made in Bury Weekly £2000 Draw is a not for profit initiative which gives one lucky person the opportunity to win £2,000 every Wednesday, whilst supporting new start up businesses from within the borough.
I have supported the draw since the start via Red Tiger karate and was fortunate to win not just once but twice , first time a mini lodge break which we thoroughly enjoyed and the second time was a call on our way to Edinburgh winning with a shared ticket with our 2 children - so treats all round. Waiting for a 3rd now great to support and help bury businesses.

Harvey's Army is an animal charity whose aim is to reunite animals with their owners. Although this is a charity which covers the UK, they have given continual support to animals and their families across the borough of Bury and surrounding areas. The charity do an incredible job and is run by volunteers.

A fantastic initiative has been launched across Bury to ensure that vulnerable people can quickly access help as and when they need it. The Safe Place Scheme works with vulnerable people and businesses to help people who feel scared, confused or alone find a place they can be seated, calm down and contact their family or carer for help.
