Arrived over an hour early for check in, but this wasn't a problem and we went to our room on the upgraded ( £10 extra p/p ) upperdeck. The room was very nice, and the shower and bath were both fine with water as hot as you needed it. The bed was extremely comfortable. I went for a massage in the spa. The staff were very polite and professional, but not overly sociable, except for the girl who done my facial later....I must admit to being very impressed with the treatments. The A/C in the hotel didn't appear to be working and this did make the spa area a little too warm. In the evening we dined in the restaurant. Having had our orders taken, we had to wait quite some time for the starters to arrive, and had an even greater wait for the main courses. All in all the meal took over 2 1/2 hours and with a cold breeze coming from an open window ( A/C not appearing to be working again ) , my partner had to go back to the room for a cardigan. The food though was excellent, and the waitress did give us a free round of drinks for the wait during courses. In the morning we awoke to find only the emergency and bathroom lighting were working. We missed breakfast, so I can't comment. This hotel could be so much better with a little effort. I am undecided as to whether I would return.

Living social voucher was used and we had a great day using the pool and jacuzzi, then had 2 treatments. We found the staff around the pool and in the treatments rooms very friendly, especially Molly who gave me my treatments. Would definitely recommend this place.

I have stayed at this hotel many times since it opened as I have family in the area and it is located perfectly for reaching them. I have to admit I was a little worried after I booked when I read some of the negative comments and reviews, but I can only speak as I find and I had no major complaints about our stay.
I arrived about an hour early for check in but that was not a problem and check in was swift and no issue staff very polite and helpful. Twin room was clean and tidy not huge but perfectly adequate for our needs. Beds were really comfortable and we both slept very well with very little noise to disturb us. Shower pressure was great and water lovely and hot only negative I have with the bathroom is the shower is over the bath and I don't like that on a safety point in case I slip but there is a grab rail also it does become rather warm as no extractor fan. Also disappointed with the limited TV channels available I would have thought in this day and age at least a full freeview package would be standard, but on a positive the free wifi is super and no issue with speed etc.
Love being able to use the gym and leisure facilities great range of equipment and classes and it's fab you are able to attend classes as a hotel guest. Some of the machines are in need of either replacing or repairing as I did have a few attempts to find a bike in full working order but this is only a minor point and on the whole I still found it a great facility.
Breakfast was super an excellent selection of items on offer from hot and cold and I was pleased to find the kitchen happy to provide porridge on request made to order and with not much of a wait either. Usual cereals, muesli, granola, fruit, yoghurt, juices, bread for toasting and pastries on offer for cold buffet, and hot selection had the usual sausage, black pudding, eggs, beans, has Browns, mushrooms etc no complaints from either of us on the breakfast. We also ate in the Pub and found the staff there friendly and helpful and meals were tasty and arrived with not long a wait especially recommend the pizzas and burgers and fish pie.
In summary I would still stay here again as it is a perfect location just off the motorway and handy for both Bury and Heywood. I think I got good value for what I paid. Yes the paintwork could do with touching up here and there and maybe some areas need a wee bit of DIY but on the whole still a nice hotel.

Stayed whilst visiting a friend in the area to celebrate her 40th. Room rate was very reasonable however the room was a little tired and very dark especially when trying to do hair and makeup. Breakfast was fine but quite dark and gloomy in certain areas of the restaurant. The reception staff were all lovely , friendly and helpful. Added bonus of a pool. I think they need a refurb to compete with premier inn now as we have stayed in several of these now and they are a lot more modern for the same kind of price. The leisure facilities are the only advantage unless they spruce up the rooms and bathrooms. On both nights there was a lot of noise from outside and the corridor as we were overlooking the car park . To be fair they did offer to move our room but it was a bit late and couldn't be bothered. The window seal had all come off so the noise on the first night was quite loud however they did send someone to repair it. Would restay if it was refurbished but if in area again would just look for nearest premier inn .

Had a great night here. Room comfortable and clean... Pity it overlooked a flat roof though 😞
Basic toiletries tea and coffee offerings... I'd rather see brands.
Lighting was cosy and bed was soft, blinds kept light out so we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was very good apart from lump of fat in sausage .... Lots of choice including pancakes and pastries. Real coffee thank goodness!
Staff were friendly, chatty and approachable.
Look out for a good deal and stay here. Shopping and night out in bury were good and we felt very relaxed overall

As soon as we checked in we went down to the pool. I didn't know I needed £1 for the locker and I had left all money in my room. The girl on the desk automatically let me borrow a £1 coin, Thanks. The pool was quite busy due to children's swimming lessons, but there was still room. The steam room & sauna were good.

We had a light lunch in the bar area, this was very good and pleasant service.

Unfortunately we weren't too impressed with the Upper Deck Room. It was very gloomy, even with the lights on and blind open. There was no light at all over the mirror, which meant in order to put make-up on I had to go into the bathroom, which after shower the mirror was completely steamed up. The window didn't quite close completely and as the weather was good, there were a lot of people out on the terrace in the afternoon, many of them smoking. Our window was directly above them and the smell of smoke wafted into the room.

The meal in the restaurant in the evening was good, however we had purchased a drink and food deal when booking the hotel, but the waiter and Manager didn't seem to know anything about it.

We would stay again, but wouldn't pay the extra for the Upper Deck Room.

I came with my Mum for a spa day with use of the facilities and 2 treatments. I was lent £1 for the locker as I didn't have the right money and we were also given towels. All the facilities were great including a smaller ladies gym if you didn't want to use the main gym. The pool area was great including the sauna and steam room. The treatments were very nice and the staff were all very friendly. Naomi who did my treatment was very good and explained everything to me. I would definitely come again.

Just give a bit of a smile please - Nothing specific that you can complain about but just not great... Staff just going through the motions...
Room Service was excellent though - Really good value and extremely tasty...

Very good location to stay if you in that part as its just near the 62. good service and clean rooms and good facilities on site including bars and restaurant. Good spa and pool. however i dint seen the value in the upper deck room as it seemed the same as the regular room.

I visited the village hotel bury with friends, we attended a tribute night which was booked through the sales team, they really went the extra mile to ensure that my special requirements were met, which did mean a lot to me. We decided to stay over in the hotel, the tribute night was fab, with live entertainment and a lovely 3 course meal, the room was lovely and could not fault the standards of the hotel. All of the staff were very helpful, and nothing was too much for them. Would definitely stay again
