Stayed now a few times at this hotel and whilst it is a fair hotel it is most certainly not one I would get excited about. Rooms are clean but in need of a spruce up. Overall hotel is ok with a good gym but everything is very average.

This is a huge hotel and look very impressive from the outside. The rooms are ok, they are prefectly functional with the usual tea and coffee etc but they are slightly dissapointing. The double room we had booked was 2 single beds pushed together with sheet over them both. The bathrooms especially are very outdated and show signs of patched up paintwork and just general wear and tear. We were kept awake by our noisy neighbours who came back to there room around 2am and continued to party (this is obviously not the hotels fault).
We did have a few drinks in the bar which was nice and had a great atmosphere. And a huge TV which was showing football. We asked at the bar for a ice bucket and some glasses so we could drink our own wine in the room and the bar maid kindly provided this for us. Our booking included breakfast and this was very nice, lots of fresh hot food and a nice selection of pastries.
We did not use the pool as we didnt have time but it looked spotless and i definatly use it if we ever stayed here again.
I believe this hotel is due to be refurbished soon, and i am sure when this is completed the hotel will be fantastic.

We attended a Take That tribute night and stayed overnight on 13th December. We had a great night with fabulous entertainment and a good dj playing a variety of music for all ages. I think the entertainment was a little late as there was a lull in the evening after the meal and I don't think the band should have encouraged dancers on to the dance floor whist they were performing as we could not see their act .The meal was ok for the price paid but the waiting staff were all a bit surly and couldn't crack a smile at all and looked totally fed up.
Check in went well with two very amiable, friendly ,knowledgeable receptionists to inform us of the procedures. We had a great room 188 , with a good view of the river,it was lovely and quiet and surprisingly spacious. We realised that this was a room for a disabled person as it had a wet room and very low down sink etc.
All in all a good hotel with a great breakfast,a little pricey at nearly £10 but great choice and all hot and well cooked in smart surroundings.
All in all a good stay albeit the rooms looking a bit tired and in need of painting, which we understand a refurbishment is underway at the moment.
Would definitively stay here again.

9 Ladies attended the boogie wonderland on Friday 27th November for our annual christmas night out.
We couldn't have picked a better event/venue that suited all of us.
On arrival we walked up a corridor dressed like a red carpet event which was the entrance to the function room. Our bags were searched for alcohol. we had done secret santa and in two of the gifts were alcohol but wrapped up. we requested the gifts be opened and put the alcohol away with staff until the end of the night...this was kindly agreed.
The function room was dressed well...loved the table decs and props.
The set meal was delicious and exceeded our expectations for a sitting of a large number. Service was quick but staff could do with being a little more smiley/friendly.
The DJ was a good laugh.
A bottle of presecco was purchased in a ice bucket. only half was drunk and we went to dance. staff were clearing tables of glasses and rubbish but the bottle was also taken and thrown. One of our group went to the bar to complain. The staff were sincere and apologetic and issued a full new bottle.
Overall this was a great night and we will consider booking here again next Christmas.

Excellent value, good choice for all courses and suitable for all the family. Our party has included a grand-daughter at 3 years old upto myself at 69 and all enjoyed on each of 6 visits we have made to the Sunday Buffet.

Stayed in hotel for 10 days as its close to Fairfield hospital where a close family member received treatment.I have never ever met a more helpful, kind, considerate, supportive, friendly staff team!!!!from reception to housekeeping and from restaurant to bar staff as well as all of you working behind the scenes......you are all absolutely fabulous!!! You also deliver an excellent hotel service!this is much more than just a business hotel or a party hotel.I had a lovely quiet room with everything I needed and access to good food, drinks and a Starbucks as well as staff who couldn't do enough for me at a very difficult time.I can only recommend this hotel !thank you all!!!!

Third stay three weeks ago only have time to write review now. Family party of seven stayed two nights for visiting hospital. Staff so pleasant and inviting to my little grandaughters from the moment we walked in to hotel. Two adjoining family rooms were brilliant and despite loads going on downstairs we had two peaceful nights sleep. Breakfast was very good and the swimming pool amazing. This was our third stay and I am a very fussy person but could not fault service or the lovely people who work here. Main lounge at entrance seems to be overtaken by rude businessmen holding meetings leaving no seats for residents and they were reserving whole areas for their colleagues not yet arrived. Twice I asked to sit and read my kindle and was told very curtly seats reserved. However this in no way reflects on the hotel. Nothing is too much bother and customer service is definitely a priority. Would not dream of staying anywhere else on our visits to Fairfield hospital. Sorry this review is a little late but belated thanks again to everyone

On check in I was warmly greeted by receptionist its a shame that Manager or whoever blonde lady in a suit was, did not even bother to look up and say hi , just busy typing away.
I thought Manager should lead by example.
I have arrived earlier and have kindly given a room however I was given accessible room despite saying I can wait if that's not the room I booked.
Problem was resolved by friendly Lauren who offered me a room move.
Starbucks is a great touch. Nothing is better like decent coffee in the morning.
Gym is very good but unfortunately staff is a massive letdown.
They don't acknowledge you at all.
Im not really fancy being in the gym where staff is talking outloud about their personal life.
Breakfast was good but could be better.
Room I stayed in need some maintenance work.
Windows need looking at.
The only reason I'm giving 4 star is friendly reception team.
Lauren was great and other lovely lady as well, did not manage to get her name.
I would stay again.

I couldn’t get to the Verve Grill to write my review for it but, just so you know my review is NOT for the hotel but FOR the restaurant.Visited with family members for our Christmas meet up.
Menu choice Excellent, the sticky ribs to start were wonderful and such good value
We all enjoyed, no complaints and I and my wife will definitely visit again as it is only a 15/20 minute drive for us

Travel to Bolton often and due to a price promotion selected to stay over with a young couple.
Hotel easy to find with a large free car park, a standard village inn same set up with reception, pub, grill and leisure facilities
opted for a room on the upper deck, a little more expensive but been worth it in the past, Bose docking stations previously and used them as a phone charger....... Not available,TV great screen unable to change channels successfully due to u/s batteries as we found out as we left? Allocated room 117 sink has some cracks in the ceramic that were sharp on the finger
To be fair to Sophie in the pub when we visited it was very busy and she tried so hard, however 4 meals below standard, a chef that sent Sophie back when we complained a fish burger had no fish in it " it must have been taken by us as he cant batter nothing" To be accused of a lie is not good. The other issue in the pub was the doors are never closed and the wind just blows in cold air, groups of guests were sat in coats, we fortunately had an area sheltered from the breeze.
the leisure facilities were as normal of a high standard, if you have not done the village inn before it's a good experience
Check out was done without a hope you enjoyed your stay or even a smile, is that the way guests expect to be treated ?
Sorry as I say we visit the area often but will avoid the food part of this hotel if we do use again
Tip no locker locks in the men's changing area you need a small padlock, secondly there is a pub on the same estate that serves food. Save money and get hot food.
