I've stayed here once before and it seems to have had some upgrading since then and the rooms (I had a club room) are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. However, my room faced over the car park to the motorway, so was a bit noisy, and the window just had a venetian blind and didn't block out the light much. This is the end of June, so the room was light very early in the morning. Curtains would solve that.

Another aspect of the upgrade is in the IT - I could check in online which saved some time, and I could even unlock my room with my phone. While I'm not too sold on the actual requirement for this, it's quite impressive. Less impressive when it didn't work the second or third time I tried, but the staff didn't think it was enabled at all, and I had a proper key, so it wasn't a big deal. The disconnect between then that emails told me and what the staff knew was disappointing, but I'll put that down to teething problems with the new system - apparently, I was the first guest ever to have checked in with the app!

The leisure centre is very good. Popular with locals who join the club, it was busy but not overcrowded. The pool is 20m and was set up to make lane swimming easy, and the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were very good. A nice way to start the evening.

As others have mentioned, the hotel is quite remote. I walked about a mile into Bury which was pretty deserted, though I managed to find somewhere good to eat. The 'Rock' complex has free parking after 6pm that I could have used.

I booked the spa break for my daughters 30th .
The spa facilities and treatment excellent.
If i had to mention any negatives it would be that the swimming pool was very in the morning with children having swimming lessons.

Great facilities with the pool and gym which we used a lot. The food was also to a high standard. Sky TV in the bedroom is something which I've never had at a hotel before which was great for switching off mentally before going to sleep. Lovely staff who were always smiling and made us feel very welcome.

excellent stay here on the advertised summer deal, took advantage as it was cheaper than a taxi home . made use of the leisure facilities which were included , overall a great place to stay. didnt eat at the hotel mainly due to prices, but we were told by one member that breakfast was included and then not by another.

This hotel was gorgeous! Much larger than we expected but there was plenty of parking. There was a couple restaurants (didnt eat in them as visiting family) but we enjoyed the starbucks!
Pool area was lovely, wish we had time for the spa!
We upgraded our room to club level for £10 which was such a bargain as the room was beaut! Very modern and stylish. Huge queen size bed, 50 inch flat screen tv and waterfall shower!! All were fab. Free glass bottled water and tea from the in room tassimo machine were a bonus.
We had a lovely view of the river and a field of sheep.
Only complaint was dried toothpaste in the sink and sky movies that was part of the upgrade didn't work.
Would love to stay here in the future.

I recently stayed at the Village hotel as part of a large sports team. The Village Hotel staff were excellent, very welcoming and did a brilliant job of catering to the teams needs. The food was fantastic, good quality and always enough available. No complaints at all, I would highly recommend to anyone.

Good value for club room including gym & leisure facilities. Well located for various places we wanted to visit in the local area. Food choices in restaurant etc a little unimaginative & overpriced. However other than that would recommend a visit.
