Good rooms - friendly & efficient staff - but breakfast is not worth the extra or bothering with - congealed fried eggs and rusk sausages is not how I like to start the day. The coffee was undrinkable - at least there was the ‘in-house’ Starbucks!

Thoroughly enjoyable stay, great hotel, great food, amazing pool, lovely staff and the comfiest of beds!

My wife, our two boys, the wife's close family and I recently stayed at the Village Hotel Bury and had a wonderful time. The hotel caters so well to staying as a big group, you really don't need to leave.

We were celebrating four birthdays in the space of 4 days and thought it would be nice to spend more than just a meal together. This was the perfect solution.

We all ate as a family, we all went swimming in the lovely pool, we had great rooms close together and we felt so welcomed by all the staff.

The whole experience was effortless, which with two young kids is a rarity indeed.

The pool and leisure facilities are fantastic. Whether it is; a relaxing spa, a gym work out or just a play in the pool, the whole family had something they really looked forward to.

All eating as one big group at breakfast was lovely too. And chance for the father in law and I to work out how we stayed so late in the bar. Good beer and great great service we decided!!

We will be back to stay again for certain.

As title says there's highs and lows. Highs - 50 inch TV and sky on tap ! Room nice and staff friendly and accommodating.

Lows - don't eat here ! The food is terrible. I'm afraid I may be ill tomorrow as I've eaten a few mussels from a portion that were far from fresh and actually tasted like rubber ! The most horrific mussel dish I've ever had .

I paid to upgrade our room to a club room, this gave us sky tv and a coffee machine (There wasn't enough tea and coffee to use the machine)
Natalie on reception was brilliant.
We ordered cocktails to our room that did not taste anything like they should.
Room extremely clean and comfy.

We booked a club room for the day which entitled us to use of the hotel facilities.
The facilities were very good and we spent the afternoon in the pub for food and drinks.
A good way of escaping weekday normality.

Always clean, breakfast is exceptional, no matter where i find myself, this chain to me is both affordable and of high quality. Whatever your reason to use a hotel i would highly recommend for a short or extended

Came North to visit family but had a late start due to little accident. Arrived late at the hotel and rather stressed. We had decided to attend the motown night which still had availability in the early morning but due to an accident we never got chance to confirm the tickets and the ticket website had closed, aaaaah disaster. As we arrived we were met by a lovely young lady on reception called Emma. Asked if we were Ok and I replied NO, upset and annoyed I could not get through to the Hotel by phone. Instantly Emma spang into action and asked what could she help me with. A table at the Motown Night would be good...Done in an instant, half an hours grace while we got changed... Done. Late checkout as we missed the leasure facilities in the afternoon so wanted to make up in the morning...done. Nothing I asked was a problem and Emmas attitude was fantastic throughout the stay, a credit to the Hotel. The Motown night was unbelievable good and we had a ball. Bedroom top noch as always and the leisure facilities were definately up to scratch. All the above set us up for a great day with family we had come to visit, great weekend.

On this occasion room was quiet but access was fairly comical as you have to access the room via various floor levels. The rooms are very very dark with little natural light and no adequate room lighting for even a shave. Had club room but was two single beds pushed together so had a bad back by the time I left. I had a rear room this time as the hotel appeared to be fully booked with lots of football fans who were having a good time, previous stays at the front of the hotel have proved that any noise from the bar can be heard. Whole hotel needs adequate double glazing and smoking area needs moving from underneath front bedrooms as this comes through the windows into the room
