Reception staff were very good, and the rooms were acceptable, although less than spotlessly clean (hairpin on the floor). The bath water was dangerously hot, even on the coldest setting it was only just bearable. The room was also too hot at end of May, no AC, and the windows could only be opened by about 1 cm. We had to ask for a fan , which helped a bit. View of the flat roof is unavoidable, but the hundreds of cigarette butts along the length of the façade showed a lack of care. Restaurant food was good but overpriced (inc £3 for a coffee, £8.50 for a glass of wine) service a bit hit and miss, staff seemed to have their own agenda, which didn't necessarily include customer service. No acknowledgement when we left.

Stayed for one night whilst on business. Room fine, although agree with other reviewers, it was quite hot in the room. I found numerous stains up the walls in my room, so cleaning doesn't seem a high priority here. Pillows are the smallest I've ever seen. Had dinner in the Vinny & Vito on site, food took a while to arrive. Had 2 or 3 different people serve us. Food was average, nothing special. Glass of medium sized wine a shock at £6 each. At £99 a night it's ok but would only stay here if on business in the area.

Stayed here to be close to family before flying to SA after a long vacation. Its obviously a popular spot judging by the size of car park, but the hotel is elevated and about 20 steps up to carry our heavy baggage. Maybe we were expected to be members of the gym. On arriving we were convinced by the pleasant receptionist to upgrade to an upperdeck room that should be quiet and full of extras. Well it was very hot and we couldn't get to sleep on the delux bedding. the extra sized TV wouldn't work properly and I had to get help which did come quickly. A warning to all is don't grab hold of the towel rail when you get In or out of the bath--its bloody hot!!
Had we had our basic double we wouldn't have minded so much, but the room was noisy--banging doors, heavy footwork above us. Breakfast was standard, but exactly the same both mornings and we had to wait one morning to get a table. Didn't have correct newspapers available.
Very convienient for Bury or the motorway system.

i just want to say the village is a lovely hotel however one very rude receptionist made my family feel very uncomfortable and a burden!!we were tutted at, had eyes rolled at us then were practically forced by her to fill in a comment card saying how nice she was!! my teenage son felt bullied and under pressure! this woman should not be on the front desk at all! cannot remember her name but she had large false eyelashes on and messy dark hair.

the pool and gym were lovely as was breakfast and our room.

I'm here with colleagues every friday for breakfast and they never disappoint in this department!! lovely lovely staff work in there unaware of names but all girls and cant fault them in anyway! food is decent and always plenty out for us, have a small wait for tea and coffee but nothing to complain about. receptionists are awful. rude. uninterested and just plain awful. they lack in customer service skills, in particular one girl with dark hair. as we are here every friday and I am unaware on who to make this complaint to I hope this review gets noticed and i see a difference in reception staff soon!!

We stayed here for one night end of June in two rooms. Reception were fantastic and allocated us two rooms together (as we were travelling with children) as requested. Reception area is very nice, although dark. The rooms could do,with a lick of paint, I think they have been wallpapered recently to give them A more modern look but the walls looked shabby. The bathrooms are what let them down, these are extremely old fashioned now, and aren't in he best state. Our sink had a massive crack in it. Also gets noisy early in morning with bin pick ups and bar deliveries. Therefore not much sleep at all. The breakfast was nice, but could do with more choice for children in pastry bit, like muffins? We used the pool once, this was lovely, however they had blocked more than half off for lane swimmers, which is fine, but then other people were swimming it and down outwith the lanes, and getting very grumpy with the kids because they were playing around. The location is very easy to find, just off the motorway M66. Would stay again because it was handy for our family who live in the area, but think it is over priced now.

I stay here on a regular basis for work. On the whole it is not too bad for the price that I pay, the staff are really helpful and friendly. The whole place is just in need of doing up. I have stayed in a few different rooms they are pretty grubby with cobwebs or mildew in the shower and you can see where things have been removed off the walls and not painted over or filled in, in one room I had a cracked sink as well. Some of the rooms look over the front which can be noisy. If you like a bit of piece and quiet get an annex room they are brighter as well. On the up side there is free Wi-Fi and the beds are comfy.

Restaurant is okay nothing special and over priced but there is not much else nearby any better.

Great value for money clean hotel for a pit stop along a long journey, standard robotic hotel staff but lovely warm bath and extremely comfortable bed.

Hotel restaurant was not open due to it being a Sunday night so we settled for their pub within the hotel. Duck wrap was great but the chicken was very dry, and there's no freeveiw in the room, other than that all round great and comfortable nights stay.
