A great weekend. The room was ideal once the very friendly and helpful staff provided us with a radio to listen to Radio 4. The food in the restaurant was superb and very reasonably priced. Because there were parties in for their Christmas dos, the service was rather slow and the room noisy. Breakfasts were great and I appreciated the free newspapers.

My boyfriend and I visited the hotel for the weekend, we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, when we arrived we was welcomed by friendly staff who introduced us to all the facilities in the hotel. We payed extra for the upperdeck room which was worth it and we recommend it to people staying at the hotel as the room was presented well and had useful facilities. There was a few minor issues however they were nothing we had to complain about , the room was clean and tidy but the heating was not working, which wasn't a big issue at the time as they also equiped a plug in heater in the room. Also we could smell drafts of smoke passing into the room but we did not know where it had come from, maybe from people smoking in their rooms which is not allowed or it could have been from the windows as we were on the first floor , so in that case people should not be allowed to smoke right outside the hotel where it is disturbing visiters. Even though the rooms were clean, the walls could do with a repaint as they were quite marked and discoloured. Apart from the downfalls ,overall the hotel was great. The bed was very comfy to the point we payed extra for a later checkout and also the breakfast which was included was to good standards , it required a variety of foods and you could eat as much as you want. We ate at the verve restuarant in the hotel ,the food was nice but we would of liked a bigger portion for the price. The sky box in the room was one of the advantages of the upperdeck room as we could relax in the room watching tv and then could order food later on through room service which came within 5 minutes. The pool and jaccuzi had a nice atmosphere, but the pool could have been abit warmer as i was quite cold. When we checked out of the hotel we were suprised at the bill as we were expecting it to be a lot more , so i definitley would say its good value. I recommend couples who are looking to go to a hotel for the weekend to visit this accomodation.

Felt put off by current reviews but had booked so hey ho. Lots off steps to climb but nice appearance. Staff were all friendly and helpful, both in hotel, restaurant and spa.

As I had just been discharged from hospital I booked for rest and relaxation purposes. Was in upper deck upgrade room as was only available. Lovely room, well equipped, nice toiletries, amazing bed and duvet and even 2 types of pillow (foam and down) - great as I have a bad neck.

Kim in spa was attentive and helpful and really made me feel at ease dispite my poorly state.

Due to pain I had to leave restaurant before food arrived - staff brought to room with no addition charge.

Verve food very nice. Ordered twice and cesaer salad from bar was also nice (and I'm a bit of a a la carte snob really!).

Would come again and recommend to others 😎

Stayed here for two nights this week while in Manchester on business. Having stayed before at a sister hotel, I am not a big fan and this stay cemented that view.
The Village hotels ( my apologies - "urban resort"...whatever that means ) are big boisterous places with a mix of business types and wanna be fit people. This is no different. Reception staff were friendly, bar staff OK, restaurant staff attentive but clearly the chef wasn't entirely. My first night steak was passable, but the seconds rib rack was....Luke warm to say the least.

To then cap it, I managed to obtain a haunted TV. The remote had seen better days and on my second night refused to do anything but switch on the set. Having managed to switch it off somehow before dinner, returned to a fired up TV later !. Guy next door decided to have a loud midnight phone conversation, then snored all night - not the hotels fault, but annoying.

Best bit ? - breakfast to be honest. Nicely presented, but again...Luke warm at best.

Me and my boyfriend have visited the village a few times and for the price you cannot complain !! We always upgrade to upperdeck just because you get so much more for a little bit extra. The rooms are always clean and staff really friendly. If you're after a cheap night away with a spa, pub and restaurant then I'd definitely recommend the village.

We attended the Abba night with meal and room booked.
The rate was very reasonable at £60 a head. The room was basic and probably worth the price.
The set meal was bland and sparse. I did not dine in the restaurant so I cannot comment on the food; however,
the breakfast was under the heating light too long making the scrambled eggs most unappetising and I imagine inedible.
The hotel is like a maze and we spent more time looking for our room than sleeping in it.
The hotel was cold and the lifts were colder. The hotel is far from disabled friendly.
All of that said; we all slept quite well and I would most likely return - with a sat nav as the rooms are so far from reception they should have their own own postcodes.

We stayed here with a large (not easily pleased) group from Ireland. We came to attend a family wedding in the neighboring town, needless to say demands were high and due to the fact I was the only one from the group able to send an email, I was put in charge.
On the day of arrival, the hectic hustle and bustle of our group (screaming kids and fighting sisters) would have put even the most calming person off.
The receptionist at the time named 'Leah' could not have handled us better. She was upbeat, full of smiles and most important QUICK! A must with a large party. One of the guest (of course) was not happy with her room and requested a new room which was done quickly and with ease thanks to the bubbly efficient receptionist.
Another member of the group was very dishearten when she discovered that her booking did not include breakfast. This was at fault of the customer as she booked her room through a booking agent so it would have been at the expense of the hotel to accommodate her on this issue. This time I spoke to the manger 'Sarah' on the desk to help me deal with this.
Sarah handled my request very proficiently, and thanks to her excellent customer relations skills, this issue was stop dead in its tracks.
The village in a whole is a very comfortable, warming hotel for affordable prices.
But I have to mention our stay was made so special thanks to the kind, friendly, efficient staff.
Thank you village bury,
We will be back :)

My husband and I live in Ireland, however we are from Manchester originally and have family in and around Bury. We have stayed at the Village Bury many times and would continue to do so on our regular trips back to the UK. We found the staff are all pleasant, helpful and courteous, the rooms are spacious and more than comfortable and we have enjoyed many meals there too. The hotel always has a constant buzz, which I find enjoyable. Yet there are area's where you can find peace and quiet if that's your wish too. I have sat reading in reception and not felt out of place. Also I would like to commend the reception team, in particular Georgina, who has always ensured we have had a wonderful stay. Checking with us regularly to ensure everything is to our satisfaction. She's very professional while being friendly and charming.
