We and our friends stayed one night to attend a 'Robbie Williams' tribute night.

The leisure facilities are good, there is a pub and function room (tip - buy your drinks from the pub not the function room, much cheaper).

Rooms are very nice and beds comfortable. We found all the staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast was nice and leisurely (on a previous stay here it had been chaos - so a big improvement).

Great value - Villages send lots of emails with offers and deals. So will be back!

Stayed here last night on a hen party night. Accommodation was very good. Large bedroom with all the amenities (plus ironing board and iron in room) and large bathroom. Bed very comfortable. Food was included in our package and also a boy band tribute act. There were a few birthday parties and hen parties about 23 tables so for mass catering I thought the food was very good. Although the vegetarian option apparently wasnt a hit on our table. There are good leisure faiclities - loved the swimmiing pool. Drinks very very expensive but despite that we had a cracking time and I would attend another event there and stay over. Breakfast buffet was good.

I was booked into this hotel through my company booking agents Intel. It is very large and has a leisure complex so people outside of the hotel guests were troopsing in all through the day. There was also a "sports night" event on during my one night stay so the bars and foyer was alive with people in DJ's accompanied by their female partners who mostly should not have persevered getting shoe horned into their long gowns. My room was good, very clean and large but in places the decor was starting to get a bit tired, particularly along the corridors. The door key card system was not working so a member of the reception staff had to accompany you to your room to open the door for you every time you wanted to get in. Reception staff were extremely friendly and this was a plus. I ate in the restaurant but the food was very mediocre though adequate. Had I been paying for it, I might have been a bit miffed. Overall, this hotel was far too busy for me and not a place where you can find a quiet little corner to relax with your lap top after a hard days work. If I was a private traveller I would not choose this hotel for a quiet break.

We stayed here recently, for a family function held in the Hotel, and we found all the staff first class, very friendly and helpful. Rooms were a little dark but very clean and comfortable and included an iron, ironing board and hairdryer, plus tea/coffee making facilities and tv, excellent.. This is a very busy Hotel and Leisure Club but we never had to wait very long for any service. Breakfast was nice enough but could have been a bit hotter. All in all we would recommend this Hotel and but for the very few minor points we were more than satisfied with our stay.

This is a story of two halves. I have stayed at the Village Hotel, Bury a number of times and always found the hotel to be of a good quality.

The communal areas are very nice. There is a Starbucks (which can struggle with service delivery at busy times), a decent sports bar and a very good restaurant (The Verve) The leisure facilities are excellent – a great pool and very well equipped gym and spa. In all a decent Village Hotel.

The rates are very fair and in principle there is no reason not to recommend the location for either business or leisure. (I have attended a couple of small conferences here and the service was excellent)

Okay, so my gripe on this trip (and one which compelled me to submit this review) is the disparity in room quality. I have previously stayed ‘in the front part of the hotel’ in a standard double. They are very nice rooms, well appointed and very well decorated and equipped. They have a feel of boutique hotel which rich fabrics and colouring which give the hotel a very classy feel.

This time I was given a ‘Superior Double Room’…room number 17X. This room is at the back and beyond of the main hotel. You go up in the lift…walk through long corridors to another lift…go DOWN in the lift…and round a few more corridors and you are then transported back in time to a Travelodge (circa 1980’s) Orange and browns, cheap furniture, tired, uncomfortable beds and zero soundproofing give the rooms a genuine motel feel!

Anyway, to cut a long review short…..make sure you insist on a ‘new bedroom’ in the main part of the hotel when you make a reservation. If they cannot accommodate you, there is a very nice Mercure about five minutes away which is new and equally well equipped.

We stayed at this hotel the night before flying from Manchester Airport, we stayed in a standard double room which was very nice and modern, the room was a good temp and very quite, the tv was a good site with a number of channels.

We had dinner in the verve resturant which was very nice and we did the 2 dine for £29.99 for 3 courses each excluding drinks which was very good value.

check in and out was very quick and easy and there was lots of parking, the starbucks to the from of the hotel was also very nice, there is also a gym but we did not get chance to use it due to needing to leave early in the morning.

The room was a good price and there was tea and coffee in the room, the bed was very comfy.

I would recomend this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for dinner and over night stay as part of a Sunday special offer. Food excellent (both dinner and breakfast) and the staff could not do enough for you. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
