My partner and I drove up to Bury and stayed in The Village for 2 nights. I love this hotel, I think there is a great atmosphere and vibe there. The staff are very happy, helpful and friendly. My only criticism would be with the room. It is quite dark and dingy and even though there were numerous lamps, they did not give off a lot of light. In the bathroom there were only 2 small hooks on which to hang 4 towels, so that didn't work too well either, especially as one was broken so the towel kept dropping to the floor.

We were on the first floor. The room was quite spacious and adequate for our needs as we were out most of the time, but the walls were pretty thin, either that, or we had quite noisy neighbours!

The buffet breakfast was lovely, although there was no fried egg option, and no-one offered that option to us, so we just had scrambled egg, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms (which were quite stewed), sausages, bacon & black pudding on the Sunday morning, but on the Monday there was no black pudding out, so unless we missed that, the options available were less on the Monday. There was also the option of cereals, yoghurts, fruit, pastries, toast, and various hot drinks from the machines, so that was all excellent. There was also fresh orange juice, which was lovely on the Sunday but tasted different and a bit watered down on the Monday, which was a shame.

We ate in the Pub & Grill on the Saturday night because we had a voucher as part of our VIP Club booking. My partner had the seabass which he said was lovely, but the portion was very small and only came with some vegetables, so that was disappointing. One of our friends had a steak which she said was nice, and three of us had a "healthy bowl" option - 2 of us had the chicken fajita bowl, which was delicious and very filling, another had the prawn and noodle bowl, which she said was lovely too.

The staff in the restaurant were very friendly. They brought a birthday cake out for my friend and every sang, so that was nice.

All the staff were still wearing masks, which I know is uncomfortable for them, but I for one, found that nice to see, whether they were for their benefit or the benefit of their guests, it showed caring, and even through the masks, you could tell they were all still smiley and happy.

My partner and I had a couple of hours to hours to use the facilities. The pool was lovely and warm, and the areas very clean. I have stayed here before & I will definitely stay there again.

Arranged a work away day at The Village Bury, Jessica was my main contact for arranging and payments and was really descriptive and helpful about what we would receive, how we wanted the layout of the room etc.
After speaking to Jessica I was able to go the day before the meeting to ensure all electronics would work with my laptop and Alison (I think she was head of operations) was also there and was really helpful.
On the day Alison was very warm and welcoming and really helpful throughout the day even as much as getting oat milk for my coffee!!! She helped with all the food and everyone's preferences.
My company will definitely be using The Village again for more conferences and meetings.
Only wish there was a few more options for lunches, some of the attendees were jealous of other meetings having hot food haha!

Room wasn't clean, needed a good going over. The (noisy) sports bar was understaffed leading to queues and mess building up (there is nowhere to eat other than the sports bar). Didn't try the leisure facilities. We 'd booked this as a 'night away' as a couple and it wasn't right for that, had I been there on business for the night it would have been fine (if cleaner). Not a nice location on a litter-strewn road on an industrial estate next to the M66. On the plus side the bed was huge and very comfy and the staff were all friendly!

Arrived Saturday afternoon, easy to check in using monitors but staff were available also to greet and help. Also, free car parking which was great.
We had drinks in the bar watching football and rugby and a great atmosphere for both adult couples and families, a really nice mix.
Booked in for dinner at 7pm and the staff were so attentive and looked after us so well, made my sons birthday meal extra special.
Food was fantastic, meat was fresh and dishes were nicely presented with a good choice for both adults and kids. Very good value as well, I thought the meal would cost a lot more for the quality.

Back up to the double bedroom, very clean and well presented.

Breakfast in the morning, again staff were fantastic in showing us to our table and letting us know were everything was.
Both food and drinks options were very good, we all loved it.

After breakfast visited the pool during the family hours, huge pool and not too busy, again a really nice atmosphere and pool staff also very good.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a family stay which wont cost an arm and a leg, my kids are desperate to go back already.

Booked a room for a Saturday night stay for me and the hubby for his birthday. Arrived by 3pm and there was plenty of parking spaces and free on a Saturday. Easy to check in on the tablet but there was a member of staff on hand to help. The room was clean and spacious and had everything you need, hairdryer, iron, board, brewing up stuff and a lovely walk in shower. We used the “Leisure” facilities, pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi and got free towel and locker included. The pool was monitored at all times. It was busy and one section had kids swimming lessons but a section was for serious swimming too.
We had dinner early and the highlight was Sophie, the Pub and Grill Assistant Manager, she went above and beyond to make sure we could get a table near a tv that was showing the football we wanted to watch (It clashed with the England Rugby so she had her hands full). The food was hot and tasty and the portions were fine.
After a night of drinking (Like fishes) in Bury town centre, we went down for the pre paid breakfast and who was there……Sophie again to look after us. All the staff on the Saturday evening and Sunday morning were brilliant and they need a mention!
All in all, the overnight stay was well worth the money and everything was satisfactory. Checkout was easy.

The room had two double beds, on the first floor, overlooking the entrance/car park area.
It was clean, had all we needed, tea, coffee and extra bedding available.
We booked an early check and was given a room as soon as we arrived, so an early early check-in.
We had a snack at the bar and then breakfast, no problems at all with either.

I would just like to say what a great experience I had at the wedding fair at the village hotel on Sunday the 6th of March. As soon as I walked in I got a friendly welcoming by Jessica who very kindly walked me to my stand & showed me where to set up. She would stop by multiple times during the day asking how things were going & if I needed anything.

Thank you again for a great Wedding Fair Jess.
Many Thanks

I was so delighted with the service and friendly staff on this day. We had a good food and drink service which is looked after by Claire and making sure that everyone been served and had enjoyed the lovely food. Our friends who are checked in and the birthday celebrants family are so happy for the help and assistance of NYLE at night time after the party. Thank you so much for making this event a success. More power on your company.

We have been to a few village hotels in the past. The last time before a couple of years ago before covid. This is our first time to Bury. We booked a room which included an evening meal and a fizz with breakfast too. We have had a meal at village hotels before and thouroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The food has now changed to a burger place. The last time we had a meal at one of your hotels it was lovely with a 3 course meal which included chicken steak etc. a proper sit down meal with fizz. This time not wanting a burger it was fish and 8 chips with sauce and peas.who wants fizz with this?. It was very draughty too . The day after we sat facing a big Tv with surround near the football kids table. We sat on the couch facing a very dusty surround. I couldn’t stop looking at the dust and dirty plates scattered around. I felt I was in student digs. Do you actually have cleaners. The dust was thick so couldn’t have been dusted in at least 2 weeks. Other than this it was a good spa break shame on the food choices now and the lack of cleaning.
