Pleasant in some ways, but only adequate in others The bed was lovely in the room. Very firm but comfortable. The food selection in the onsite restaurant was nice too, The mirror in the bathroom had not been cleaned in a while (as became apparent after a steamy shower). The interconnecting door of my room let an inordinate amount of noise from the other room transfer. And, the sound insulation of the rooms to the outside and corridor are poor.

I have been training with Connor the PT for a while and i always look forward to every session he pushes me to my full potential and encourages me to train hard, always have a laugh in each session which makes it fun! I Have become much stronger / Fitter since training with him. The gym is a great friendly environment and the Staff always make an effort to speak to members.

Been a member of the village gym for a number of years. More recently, the staff have made an effort to engage with customers more and provide a friendly space to train. The new equipment was way over due and is a big plus! I currently do 2x PT sessions a week with Connor who is an asset to the club. His knowledge, both in training and nutrition, is incredible. He constantly pushes me out of my comfort zone and gets me results I haven’t been able to get anywhere else. Cannot recommend him enough!

I have been a member of this gym for at least 5 years. I used to attend Aqua and Pilates classes and use the gym. I have also trained with PT Connor twice a week who has been excellent in helping me with my various issue due to osteoarthritis. In fact I would have left this gym years ago if it hadn’t been for Connor who makes my training fun and helps me achieve my potential even though I am nearly 70. My fitness has really improved and so has my overall strength. Connor makes it fun which means I look forwards to my PT sessions. I used to enjoy swimming but I find the saunas and jacuzzis are always full and usually with men. Unfortunately I have given up trying to book classes as I refuse to upgrade my membership as this gym is very overpriced and the cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. However I do acknowledge the new gym equipment has made a big difference but there needs to always be a trainer in attendance to help with using the new equipment or to deal with accidents and also a more efficient cleaning team. I would give this gym 3 stars but because of the new equipment I’ve given it 4. However I would give Connor 5 stars.

Writing this on behalf of myself and my wife Emma. We’ve both had personal training sessions with Connor at the Village Bury twice a week for the last 2 years. Also gotten to know a few other members of staff /PT’s in the gym over this period. Connor is a professional and is highly skilled at his job. He’s delivered great results fitness-wise for both of us, and made coming to the gym an enjoyable experience which I never thought I’d say! The gym has recently been refurbished and it’s a great, positive environment to work out in.

To be honest we’re shocked to see the *anonymous* comments about a PT apparently making derogatory remarks about other people’s workouts. That’s not our experience of Connor or any of the other PT’s - they’re all friendly and approachable with everyone in the gym. Connor doesn’t have a bad word to say about anybody.

I guess it’s really easy to post things anonymously online, but if you have genuine concerns about something it’s a weird way to go about raising them in our opinion.

Keep doing what you’re doing Connor and the rest of the PT/fitness team. We’d have no hesitation recommending any of you to friends/family. 5 *.

The room was bigger than I expected and was very clean and the bed was comfy. The Dyson fan was a very welcome addition as I am usually warm but it was not very powerful and as fixed to desk couldn't move it nearer to me. The bathroom was spacious and clean I was very happy with the room overall.
The restaurant serves delicious food for dinner, it is a little pricey in comparison to some but the portions were generous and the staff were very friendly.
My only issue is when you arrive as someone who hasn't stayed there before the car park is full of signs telling you to pay for parking on an app. I downloaded the app and tried to pay on 3 different cards and it failed each time. By this point I had been there for ten mins or so and was concerned I would get a ticket. I went in only to find a machine inside where you can pay, or you can add it to your bill. If the app is no longer used get rid of the signs in the car park it is very misleading and frustrating when you are stood there adding numerous cards. Also, why a hotel charges you to park there when you are a guest is beyond me, especially given the location of being next to a motorway.
I will stay there again if I need to visit Bury again, just hope others don't have the same issues with the car park.
