Only stayed one night and we didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner. Rooms are what you would expect from a 3* hotel, basic and generally clean. Reception staff were attentive but this didn't extend to the Breakfast restaurant staff. Mainly self service but clearing empty table was haphazard and ensuring the Hot Food counter was adequately replenished was lacking. Would I stay again? at the price charged NO. I have had better service at the Premier Lodge a couple of miles away, at half the price!

I stayed here during my works christmas party 2011.

Check in was at 3pm, and the rooms were decent enough - two twin beds which were comfortable and a decent sized bathroom. Although it took me about 5 minutes to manage to turn on the water for the shower!!
The room has a television, which i'm assuming has all freeview channels- we only listened to the radio.

Tea and coffee available in the room.

The pool did look very nice! Wish i would have made the effort to go down.

The breakfast in the morning was a buffet style- serve yourself. Which gave the basic options for a breakfast- eggs/ sausage/ beans/ toast/ cereal/ bacon etc. Was basic but eatable!

Overall, i would stay again for a christmas party or something similar. But if i was to go for a night away with my partner, i would probably go to a hotel which was smaller. Although for such a large chain hotel, you can't complain really ! :)

Well we arrived as part of a family booking with our two children to stay for a few nights in december as a little treat for the kids. Although there wasnt alot for the kids to do we were still made welcome by the lovely girl on reception Elise. She offered to carry our bags as she could see our struggle. Upon checkin we booked our table in the verve grill as were told that kids were not allowed in the pub during the football. However we ate here for all 3 nights as the food was fantastic. Plenty of choice and the waitress even offered to get us extras that were not on the menu.
Breakfast was a basic self service buffet with alot of choice. Was shocked to see no black pudding, but nevertheless it was fantastic. Although it being very early, the staff were awake, laughing and chatty. Especially matthew and carol who even helped us with a list of local sites and attractions and directions to them for the kids.
The hotel was clean, comfy and warm. Very relaxing and spacious. The pool was clean and there was plenty of room for us to swim. The changing rooms even having a dryer for your swimwear.
The only downfall of the stay was the cost. We expected high prices with it being a hotel but was shocked to find out what the food and drinks prices were on arrival to verve. This put us off drinking on the second and third night. The food was well worth every penny however.

If you can get onto their Deals it is value for money, otherwise the Premier Inn in Bury is far better value. Plus the Breakfast in the Premier Inn is far better and far hotter.
Village breakfast no matter how early you go for them are never really hot, only luke warm.
breakfast should be cooked to order not left to go cold, this is a health Hazard.
Food should be removed after 15mins not left until it is congealed in the dishes.
Resturant meals are overpriced, it is a 3 star hotel not a Michelin star, get thing inn perspective.
first nights eveining meal was included in price, but my meal was partly overcooked and partly raw. dining room manager asked me to choose again and " Low and Behold" replacement meal was cooked to perfection. Why was this not done with my first choice ANSWER Too busy and probably thought customer will not say anything, but just leave. They were wrong. I do believe in complaining but only if it is justified.
another strange thing is that my room for the less abled visitors was for wheel chairs, but instead of a shower it had a bath. why?

So, booked a stop over as it was 30minutes from the airport and located conveniently for Busy, Bolton and Rochdale. Massive building, with quite a few Steps to get to reception. Didnt see any disabled access, but am sure there was some. Reception and check in quick and simple and room on the 2nd floor. Lifts within easy reach. Busy Hotel as it has a large bar and large leisure club. The room was decorated in a modern style, but was cold. Due to the fact that NO radiators, just electric plug in radiators. Had to leave this switched on during evening meal to get warmth into the room. Large TV, settee and good facilities.
Restaraunt - Cooked evening food to my personal tastes and reasonable priced. Noticed another chain of restaraunts next door. They hold different themed nights for everyone, from Karaoke, through to Quiz nights, so if its entertainment you like, you'll be at home.
breakfast - large choice, hot or cold buffett....although again, NOT HOT ENOUGH!

Overall, good for business, short stays, entertaining - Get the heating on if its cold

Excellent hairdryer.
booked it for its location between whalley and oldham.
20 steps from car park to reception not easy with bags
leisure club provides good standard
I wasn't sure the room was non-smoking due to the smell so rang receptionw twice to check but no answer. I later found the notice saying the whole hotel was non-smoking, but my bedclothes still came away smelling of stale smoke
reception not the most professional but a good allrounder with only a little motorway noise.

Located just off the motorway and easy to find with ample parking. There are around 30 steps up to the front reception, those less agile may need to arrange arriving through another entrance? Check in was a quick, easy and friendly experience. There is a handy lift just by the reception desk. Our room was clean, comfy and modern with tea, coffee, hair-dryer, iron, lots of coat hangers, imperial leather shower gel and hand wash in the bathroom. The pool, sauna, steam room were really quite nice. We stayed in the hotel as part of a hen party on a bed, breakfast and dinner deal for around £55 - great value for money. The drinks are quite expensive which obviously prompts people to take their own in..... beware you get a bag search on the way into dinner!!!!!!! Over-all I was impressed, its not a classy place, but its clean adequate and a great place for a good value get together.

I am a member of the village, and I do like to have short breaks away, and myself and my partner found everything ok, no problem, the carvary on the sunday was very tasty £11.95, I used my discount so we got 20% off so thats abit of a saving...every little helps.

All the rooms are pretty much the same, dark but clean, on a negative note, if you do have a disability of any sought, you will find the bath very high, and difficult to get into, also very slippy, I have a severe back/leg disability and found it very difficult to get myself into the bath to have a shower.

Everything else was fine.

Thankyou for reading my review

I stayed here for for 2 nights in Feb over my wedding, the night before with family, and my wedding night with my husband. The minute my sister and I walked into the room, we were greeted by a blast of hot air, the electric heater was on full heat, and would not be turned off. We asked at reception straight away if this could be sorted, as the heat was unbearable to sleep in, and then left the hotel, we came back to no change, I dont know if anone look at the heating or not whilst we were out, so we opened the windows as far as they would go,and hoped for the best. Unfortunalty, neither of us slept well, due to the heat. I woke up the day of my wedding, with a banging headace, having not had enough sleep, hoping breakfast would be nice..unfortunalty again, whilst the toast and sausages were nice enough, the bacon I have to say was actually disgusting.
Returning to the hotel the next day after my wedding, the heating was still the same, and we had to ask again for it to be sorted, to which it was turned off at the fuse.. which sorted it for us. I feel sorry if it gets turned on again for the next guest though..

Overall, a nice hotel, friendly staff, was expensive for how I feel the weeked went, considering we had family stay in the Premier Inn, not very far away who couldnt praise the hotel and staff enough.. will stay there next time I think!!
