Visited the The Village Hotel to an evening of Take That tribute act. Absolutely brilliant. Three course meal well served, well prepared, excellent catering. Cost £22.95. Evening starts with the meal, then a tribute act performs leading to a disco to finish the evening off. Well worth the money. My friends and I will be going again to another tribute act, Michael bubble soon.

I visited the restaurant Verve grill and bar and from the moment i entered i was greeted and made to feel warm and welcome. I was with a few of my relatives and looking for an enjoyable evening. I don't usually write reviews but all of my family loved our experience. Danny was great he made my Grandmother feel so special and laugh so much. After dining the waitress i didn't catch her name i think it was Tina? but aided us to the pub to enjoy the rest of the evening. Having stayed in alot of hotels through work this is up there with the best.

This is a great hotel situated on the outskirts of Bury Town Centre. The facilities are of a really high standard and the staff are friendly and helpful, always trying to go the extra mile. It has a very active events section with tribute acts and parties most weekends.

Unfortunately we had hoped for a quiet weekend away rejuvenating from the challenges that come with a two year old. We were a bit anxious when we went to our room we saw a number of hen parties getting ready for a big night.

At about 1am the noise of the returning hen parties began with giggling girls coming in and out and in and out of the rooms opposite ours. It gradually grew louder and louder and I was about to try and reason with the girls when a fight broke out in the corridor with rival hen parties. Screaming and shouting woke everyone in the hotel and security came to calm things down. At about 4am things started to go quiet, but any chance of a good night sleep was ruined.
When I spoke to staff about the incident they were great. Very professional and a credit to de veres. For our second night they moved us to the rear of the hotel (there was a works party on that night) and we really benefitted for a great night’s sleep.

I would really recommend this hotel for its facilities and staff, but I would book a room at the rear of the property in the extension that backs onto the river (unless you are a stag or hen party).

This place confused the hell out of my colleague and I. We took ages trying to find our rooms at the back of the hotel. You have to go up to get down to your room! Very confusing walk back to reception. The bar prices are a little steep, £6-45 a large glass of very average red. Spa was ok, pool was busy with private lessons. Breakfast was ok, self service, and coffee from a machine. Ok if you want just want somewhere to lay your head after busy day.

I felt it was a but shabby, restaurant had run out if some meals and some wine and beer was not available, service and staff were ok, but the best ever, they had run out of room keys, so I was let in by a porter then had to stuff paper in the socket you would put your key to turn on electric, just sums it up for me. Apart from that is was fair but not the best

Stayed here for two nights over a weekend in February. We have stayed at many De Vere Village hotels over the years and enjoy the swimming pool, sauna, etc.
In this case, the pool was excellent, sauna ok, but the steam room was too hot, even the regulars weren't using it.
The room was tired, to say the least. The window casement did not fit the frame so there was an icy draught. The heater controls were broken and the sink was nearly blocked. As for the TV, the picture was grainy, the aspect ratio incorrect and the channel selection poor.
I told the receptionist about the sink and window problem and she was completely disinterested.
Food and service was reasonable. There was a pub quiz which was advertised for 7:00pm. The locals knew it started at 9:00pm, so, despite asking the bar staff when it was going to start we had to wait two hours in the bar when we could have had a meal in the restaurant then gone to the quiz.
Definitely the worst Village hotel I have stayed in. However, it was cheap, so doesn't get too bad a review.

We stayed here last Friday and had a great stay. The reception was good and so was our room. The Victory bar was good value so was the Verve. The set meal £29 for two was great value. I noticed that a plastic bag had been wrapped around the smoke alarm and informed reception they arranged for it to be removed with haste. The hotel was very clean and all in all very nice. The Buffett breakfast was ok. The service at Breakfast was very attentive while being seated we where asked if we had a good night sleep and that if we needed any porridge or boiled eggs to let them know. I will stay here again
