We stayed here as my husband and daughter were going to the football. It is within walking distance to Bury so you can leave the car and take the 10 min stroll to the town centre.
The rooms were very nice and clean, the pool area was also clean and well maintained.

The bar was a little pricey but there is a nice pub just over the road that is family friendly.

Stay on regular basis on business. Generally nice hotel but fairly basic for the prices on stay and bar food just ok with staff not very friendly.

I find reception staff very impersonal and never get a welcome feeling.

As I usually only stay for one night durations the staff situation does not cause me any problem however I would not like to stay for any more one to two nights.

The initial outside of the hotel looked pleasing with plenty of car parking spaces. The room was a great size although the 'double' bed was two singles pushed together which was a disappointment. We asked reception how long it would take to walk to Bury which is the local town of which she said 15 minutes. Walking at a reasonable pace it however took 30 mins. The breakfast was included in the rate, which I would only rate satisfactory as there were only two types of cereal available and only one type of juice. On our first night the receptionist also rang the room between 21.00-21.30 when we was in bed which I was not happy about, to ask us if we had used the leisure facilities! Other than all of the above the rooms were comfortable and all staff welcoming and friendly.

Good hotel overall. Pool is a full 25 metres and also includes both a Suana and steam room at the pool side. Food is good value for money both in the resteraunt and the bar. The hotel is convenient on a junction of the M66 for Manchester and also the area north of Bury which is Blackburn and Burnley only half an hour away. Had a great stay and will use this venue again whenever i am in the area.

We went here to the grease tribute night in October and overall was a fun night here some pros and cons

Pros
Great atmosphere
Nice hotel
Great location just off the motorway
Was a cheap fun night

Cons
Food was cold and wasn't nice at all
Although the grease tribute Danny and sandy were the cheesiest corniest people iv ever seen

Can't comment on the rooms as didn't stay over although some friends did and they really enjoyed it and had no problems
I would try this hotel again but a different tribute night or an overnight stay

Visited the The Village Hotel to an evening of Take That tribute act. Absolutely brilliant. Three course meal well served, well prepared, excellent catering. Cost £22.95. Evening starts with the meal, then a tribute act performs leading to a disco to finish the evening off. Well worth the money. My friends and I will be going again to another tribute act, Michael bubble soon.

I visited the restaurant Verve grill and bar and from the moment i entered i was greeted and made to feel warm and welcome. I was with a few of my relatives and looking for an enjoyable evening. I don't usually write reviews but all of my family loved our experience. Danny was great he made my Grandmother feel so special and laugh so much. After dining the waitress i didn't catch her name i think it was Tina? but aided us to the pub to enjoy the rest of the evening. Having stayed in alot of hotels through work this is up there with the best.

This is a great hotel situated on the outskirts of Bury Town Centre. The facilities are of a really high standard and the staff are friendly and helpful, always trying to go the extra mile. It has a very active events section with tribute acts and parties most weekends.

Unfortunately we had hoped for a quiet weekend away rejuvenating from the challenges that come with a two year old. We were a bit anxious when we went to our room we saw a number of hen parties getting ready for a big night.

At about 1am the noise of the returning hen parties began with giggling girls coming in and out and in and out of the rooms opposite ours. It gradually grew louder and louder and I was about to try and reason with the girls when a fight broke out in the corridor with rival hen parties. Screaming and shouting woke everyone in the hotel and security came to calm things down. At about 4am things started to go quiet, but any chance of a good night sleep was ruined.
When I spoke to staff about the incident they were great. Very professional and a credit to de veres. For our second night they moved us to the rear of the hotel (there was a works party on that night) and we really benefitted for a great night’s sleep.

I would really recommend this hotel for its facilities and staff, but I would book a room at the rear of the property in the extension that backs onto the river (unless you are a stag or hen party).
