We stopped in room 271 as a family whilst doing activities during the day.

The leisure facilities are good swimming pool with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna is great. Just be aware that there are junior times which finish at about 6/7.

The Verve restaurant is amazing. The food and service is fantastic with a range of different menus. Starbucks was good but note it is not open till late.

WiFi was good with no slow performance.

The room was the down side of the the trip. Firstly I booked a family room over the phone and they had a normal room which meant they need to set the sofa bed up. This was really uncomfortable for the kids.

The rooms are dark with very little light and with plugs in the wrong and unaccesible places. They are too hot with no air conditioning.

TV quality is poor with basic channels.

Sleep was disturbed both nights once by a private function and then by deliveries first thing in the morning.

We asked be to upgraded to Upperdeck but told children were not allowed in the rooms.

This hotel is not designed for families and need to focus on sorting their accommodation out.

I have had a better experience in a Premier Inn and regret paying the extra.

in the evening we booked a meal at the restaurant and i have to say you have to try it the food is amazing we had a 10* 3 course meal with drinks very well priced they cater for all budgets. and the standard is 10* no matter what you choose
i could really go on and on but this is one resort that is a must to stay in

I stay here 10/12 times a year and it's a good business hotel. Service at front of house is always on point and staffs how an interest in you at all times. Rooms, stay away from the rooms in the main part of the hotel, they are dated, lack light and wall plugs. Look to stay in the annex or go Upper deck if the budget allows. There can be a lot of evening functions on so always ask and ensure your room is away from the conference rooms. Leisure facilities are excellent and open at 6.00am until 10.00pm. Avoid 5 - 7 as the regular gym goers tend to flock in after work. Bar food is good and what you would expect from and food. Restaraunt offers a great breakfast in the morning and a good dinner menu in the evening. Service is always good. If you are getting room service plan ahead, it can often take 40 minutes or more depending on how busy they are. Starbucks is also in the reception area and you can purchase on your room which is a good option. Wifi is usually good for streaming Netflix, Skygo and Spotify. I would not stay here on a couples weekend or a family get away, it is business and event focused.

Enjoyed a one night break with a friend. We booked here as its local, and we didn't want to be travelling too far. Booked via Spa Breaks and got dinner bed and breakfast with two treatments for £100. I thought this was excellent price! Had manicure and pedicure. I think as it was a cheap offer, treatments a little rushed. Nail Polish was knocked on toes. To be fair I never said anything, as I didn't want to cause a fuss. I think the girl did notice as I saw her looking. The pool / sauna / steam room great. Obviously well used but clean. The jacuzzi was a little busy most of the time but ok. The food in restaurant lovely. It was very quiet, which seemed a shame. Staff nice throughout stay. Would recommend a visit.

This is a decent location for a business meeting, just off the motorway network, ample parking and easy to find a quiet corner for business discussions as well as a choice for lunch, coffee etc

Would recommend

We have stayed at the Village in Bury since it opened 15 years ago. On this occasion - although a pleasant stay - we noticed how tired it was looking. A very dark interior greeted us - the decor of slate grey walls and flooring does not give a particularly ambient welcome. The bedroom corridors also are beginning to look shabby. The dark red painted doors and carpeting stripes of dark red, slate grey and paler grey are not good. Whilst our room was comfortable, again the slate grey decor made it appear dark and gloomy. The furniture is beginning to look desperately in need of replacement. HOWEVER - the bathroom absolutely takes the biscuit !!!!! The interior has never been replaced since the hotel was built - still having the original wall tiles we vividly remember. The basin was absolutely appalling having three very large cracks in it with one going from the sink plus right up to the rim. These were old cracks as they were very discoloured. Not a nice welcome at all. We did report our findings to reception and were offered a change of room, but as we were staying for only 2 days, we declined this. Also, a number of floor tiles were cracked. The bath panel was badly chipped all along the lower edge. We were told that the bathrooms were due to be refurbished and this can not be too soon as 15 years of use and abuse is probably just a year or two over the limit.

On a positive note, the breakfast buffet was far better than the last time we stayed at this hotel. There was a very good selection of fruit, such as grapefruit, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt and fruit compote plus lovely danish pastries and the usual cereals. A really good choice of full English Breakfast food also and for once, the bacon was cooked really well and not just shown the grill !!!! The waitress service was helpful and friendly.

On the whole we really enjoyed our break but very much let down by the somewhat shabby room and awful state of the bathroom.

Would stay here again, as it is very convenient for us and within easy working distance of the town.

On this trip we did not use the health club.

Hotel is lovely however a bit dated, what makes it worth coming back to is the quality of service, everyone at the reception desk is really helpful.
Bar staff is amazing, especially Yasmin and Stuart, both very polite and attentive :)
Breakfast staff was also very nice.
Breakfast itself is whatever you could wish for in hotel breakfast :)

Unfortunately this hotel chain has become a faceless same old same old with the usual decor and tired upholstery. Directions to the relevant event room were non existent so we had to queue at reception (only one person serving) just to ask which way to go. The customer in front of us had an issue with his bill so it was a lengthy wait for something that could have been avoided with a notice board.
Drinks at the bar extortionate for the quality of hotel, more akin to the 5* hotels I use in London.

Stayed for a wedding reception here recently and do agree with other reviewers that the quality of some rooms is not what you expect and I hope that the refurbishment will be finished soon. It is a pity that hotels still allow TVs in each room as to be honest most don't watch them though our neighbours did - until 3 in the morning annoyingly. I know that some hotels have TVs with a limited sound range which is a reasonable compromise.

The staff from beginning to end were all friendly and very helpful. The food served at the reception was absolutely first class. The prices at the bar we thought pretty reasonable. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves.
