Food was nice, staff were friendly, room was fairly nice except for low lighting and an adjoining door with noisy neighbours. Our friends in another room had mold/spiders in their room and woke up with some insect bites.

Its exactly what you expect from a village hotel. Clean, well presented and great staff. The only downside was the pool as it was so busy we couldn't actually swim. When you go for a nice stay away you dont want a pool full of children and doing swimming lessons. Some people were on a spa day so not very relaxing when theres screaming children.

Thank you to all of the staff at the Village hotel for making our last minute night away an absolute pleasure. You are a credit to the company. It showed that there must be a good place to work. The staff were all so friendly, down to earth and engaged us in conversation. We would definitely come back. Food and drinks at the bar were lovely too. Having Starbucks there as well was really nice and the guys behind the bar were so chatty too. The night manager and the lad who checked us in made us feel so comfortable

We would love to thank Tina, Rod & Tina and all their team for making the most amazing day. You are a credit to the hotel you went out of your way to make us feel so special. The room looked sensational and our guests loved the food. The resident DJ was fab.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Lots of love
Jan and Paul

The hotel and rooms are fine. Single glazed windows made it a bit noisy from outside and a disco on sat night ran until 1a.m. Bar anD grill were busy and very noisy ... by5 the food was nice.
guests of younger ages were inconsiderate when returning late at night: perhaps the hotel could offer quieter rooms to older folk who want a good nights sleep. I would stay again, but ask for a quieter room.

I had my wedding at the village hotel in October 2019 - was everything we wanted and more!
The team were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble - expertly lead by Kristina!!! Whatever we wanted or needed they delivered in an expert manner!

We can’t thank this team enough for providing us with the perfect wedding night.
The venue was perfect and the room we held our wedding party in was expertly arranged and again the team did everything we wanted while we relaxed and got ready for the big night!

A huge huge thank you from us both - it was the perfect evening from start to finish

Highly recommended to anyone who wants a stress free, relaxed and highly enjoyable evening 🥳🥳🥳

Thank you so much and especially Kristina - you were amazing!

Mr and mrs Lomax ❤️

I have not been to the hotel since it’s had its make over, unfortunately I was very disappointed the room looks and feels like it’s been designed by a teenage boy! I really did feel like I was in my sons room having a romantic break with my husband, just didn’t seem right! To contact the reception you had to down load the app or visit the web page, I mean what’s that all about (I must be getting old!) only had one towel between the two of us so contacted them to send more, when they dropped them off he made a comment that there is some in the cupboard in the room, there was no blooming cupboard in the room and only a few draws to put our clothes! It is such a shame!

The hotel has changed over the years and although still a reasonable standard the main reception area let's it down. Unfortunately they have had to move with the times to attract more business but what was once a pleasant first impression has now become a very noisy sports type bar with huge TV screens everywhere which in the morning becomes the breakfast area not a very relaxing experience.

I booked this hotel as a last minute nights getaway for me and my partner. Overall we enjoyed it but I think that is really based on what you make of it yourself. We were a bit disappointed by all the missing touches that most low star hotels even have.
I think it would be easier to list this as pros and cons:
Pros:
- The staff were friendly and helpful, anything we asked for was met with a smile and nothing seemed too much.
- The evening meal (pre booked 2 course) was lovely, reserved table was laid out and again the waiting staff were great. We did try to tip the waiter over card but apparently you don't let you staff take tips over card which seemed a little unfair. It's busy in there and they work hard. Not many people are coming to a hotel with cash.
- Check in was super easy.
- Extra pillows and clear definition between soft and hard.
- TV was a decent size.
- Shower is good. decent size head and a second head.

Cons:
- The room layout was not practical, women would find it very stressful to get ready as the table is not placed near the mirror, which is odd. I used the ironing board as a table for my makeup.
- There was a funky stain up our wall (I won't describe it) and one of our towels was stained (before use).
- All the products, shampoo, hand wash, body wash are all actually the exact same product. So I washed my hair with the shampoo and felt like I was wearing a straw hat for the rest of the day.
- The room just lacked all the little touches a hotel usually has. Like where is a glass for water? or tissues? it was pretty bare except the promised iron, tea and coffee making facility.
- The one thing that really irritated me is that I had prepaid for late checkout at 1pm but I went to go back in the room about 11:30 and the key card had stopped working. Just a good job my partner was in there, but really?!? I prebooked it, it can't of been that hard to get right. I would have been pretty annoyed if I had been on my own and had to come and remind your staff that I had late checkout.
- Breakfast was mental. I get that it was the rubgy world cup but guests had to ask the staff to refill the stations when it should have been preempted. but also it was just a really boring breakfast choice. Complete day and night compared to the evening meal. We would have been happier finding a local greasy spoon.

Overall we enjoyed ourselves but I do think its overpriced/overrated. We were able to look past all the missing bits because we were just happy to be child free for a night! The staff were lovely, especially being so run off their feet by the busy bar and grill. They are a credit to you, let them take card gratuities!

Went for some quality time out together as a couple and to relax after a difficult 18months.Turned out anything BUT! was woken from sleep and keep awake all night by adjoining guests shouting, arguing and fighting. This went on from just before 3am to almost half past 5.Stay was totally ruined and was left to exhausted to fully enjoy the breakfast and had to miss out on pool and spa we had planned due to this
