Decided to stay at the Village hotel as had stayed at the hotel in Dudley. When we arrived there was a wedding party taking place and it was very busy, a bit older that the hotel in dudley but had a very nice pool as all village hotels have, good bar and an excellent breakfast provided.
Bit of a walk to the town centre as the hotel is on the outskirts of Bury close to the edge of the motorway.
We stayed 2 nights as wanting to visit family and woke up one morning to find our car surrounded by a car boot sale! !
Ok but a bit too busy for us and too far to walk to the town centre.

first of all i just want to say the hotel staff in the restaurant are lovely and inviting! breakfast and tea were great, i understand how difficult it was on the sunday morning due to it being a busy hotel, people complaining on here really need to think about what more the staff can really do? the staff did everything they physically could and did it all with a smile throughout the stress of irritable guests, lovely leisure facilities and great reception staff. my only grumble is that the house keeping staff were unfriendly and didnt even smile as you walked by!

I didn't have high expectations for this place - on a main road outside town, part of a chain - but I was pleasantly surprised. The bar and restaurant were amazingly busy the night I arrived, with a good atmosphere. The staff were great at helping with a few out-of-the ordinary requests, and even the room was better than normal - not easy in a chain. Overall, very nice if you're in the area.

I have stayed here a couple of times now as the office I sometimes work out of is nearby. The hotel is not bad the Gym is quite useful, if you like that sort of thing. The food in the bar and restaurant is quite good. It's just the rooms are little tired particularily the bathrooms. On my second stay there was water coming through the tiles on the bathroom floors, which I find hard to believe that they weren't aware of but have chosen to do nothing about. I mentioned to reception and they said maintenance will look at it, well we will see. All in all not bad barring the floor incident.

The hotel was ok. Gym facilities and pool were really good and the restaurant was nice. The rooms however, they weren't great. We asked for a double room and got a room with two single beds pushed together that moved and separated through the night. The bedding had stains on and was ripped and the decor was dated.

We stayed one night on a promotion purchased through "Groupon" - £39 for bed and breakfast, with full use of the leisure facilities, so,that was very good value for money.
The room was very comfortable and the staff were exceptionally helpful, particularly Jane on reception.
We stayed on a Friday night, when the restaurant does a £29 offer for a 3 course meal for two people with a glass of wine each.We took advantage of this offer and the food was very good.
We would normally stay in a smaller, quieter hotel, but this was a very enjoyable stay and we would stay there again when in that area.

Great modern hotel, room decor very nice in superior room, hairdryer , tea and coffee included, no dressing gowns, pub downstairs nice and cosy and very cheap , beer £2 , burger and chips £2 at happy hour....had a group on in the evening, reception staff polite, lots of choices at breakfast inc black pudding and mushrooms etc, taxi only cost £5 to Bury town centre. Pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi all good, gym amazing ! Only problem was builders taking scaffolding down right outside our window at 7am Sat morning so ruined our lie in.

I have recently returned from a stay at The Village. I was there for a wedding and the reception was held at the hotel, my room was therefore booked some time ago and a good rate was secured.

Generally I enjoyed my visit, the room was comfortable and well equipped, food in the bar on the Friday night was of an acceptable standard (as part of a Friday offer it was only £2.50 for a burger and chips so I can't really complain!). Breakfast was decent, although I can't say I was very keen on their sausages. I used the gym facilities which were very good and I am reliably informed that the swimming pool was good too.

There were a couple of down points, the card reader on my room's door packed up which led to some degree of concern but I must commend the staff on their (ultimately successful) efforts to get me back in. The place also seemed a little gloomy. These are fairly minor matters though.

The hotel is next to the moterway junction to Bury. Just about a mile to town centre. You got all the facilities you need in a hotel. Free parking. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Starbuck Cafe inside the hotel.
Swimming pool is large and lovely, but it might be a bit too noisy sometimes when filled with kids.
