The only let down was the service in the grill restaurant was really slow and some waitresses was very grumpy and basically struggled to smile, we booked for the 4 course lunch and my husband drink never came out so he just shared mine and they still tries charging us for it. The evening meal, well the sweet potato and chilli soup came out cold. And the wedges on my main meal was under cooked. Over all it was a lovely stay. The restaurant let it down!

To me this hotel is family/ couple orientated, having events like the boxing attract rowdy and aggressive people which I don't feel suit the hotel. I suggest a courtesy call is made after a family/ couple booking is made advising of such events as this would have changed our mind and we could of perhaps changed the date and had a much more enjoyable stay.

Excellent value! Valentines deal included one night stay three course meal and buffet breakfast! All for £99. Restaurant staff were warm and friendly and was always asking if everything was okay and if we needed anything else.

A couple of issues with the tv which we had paid more for the sky on the room. Moved to different room and smelt of smoke. The the coffee machine didn't work. Staff good though. Swimming pool very busy and changing room not great (not relaxing!) Breakfast was very nice.

An ok hotel but was spoiled by noisy guests and security throwing them out.Don’t visit unless you’re invited to one of the room parties that seem to take place all over the hotel during the early hours

I had to relocate to the Village as my own nearby home had become uninhabitable following Storm Emma damage.I'd probably have taken anywhere but the hotel didn't raise their prices although they could have charged stranded travellers anything they wanted.Cheerful, friendly staff.Large, warm comfortable room and bed.Overall fairly clean although dirty bathroom grouting as well as area around bath plugs, taps and drain let it down. These areas can only be seen when lying in the (lovely deep)bath so it's obviously easy for cleaners to forget. The window was cracked in both the rooms I stayed in for two nights and both let in a strong draught although closing the blinds stopped it.As there were 90 mph gales during my stay,it probably isn't normally a problem. One small point is the lighting. No overhead but several lamps. In both my rooms the bedside lights were adjustable with screw type attachments Two in each room, four altogether during my stay and none of them usable .The screw had worked loose meaning the lights only faced downwards.Fortunately I was so tired I didn't need to use them for reading and managed with the standard lamp but lighting overall could perhaps be checked out.As I said, these are minor niggles and i had a great stay. Will definitely be back.
