Very pleased with my recent stay at The Village Hotel Manchester Bury. Me and my partner always tend to stay in The Village Hotels but I like to look at reviews on Trip Advisor first as I know some hotels can be outdated. There were not many recent photo reviews so I was a little skeptical about this hotel but I needn’t have been.
Our room was lovely and large. The view from the window however was very disappointing (a brick wall) but it was late at night when we checked in so not an issue.
Didn’t interact with staff only a guy on reception who was okay not overly welcoming but heyho.
We would definitely consider staying in this hotel again

Sat at the bar had a right good time socialised with Jamie-Lee, Ryan, Betty and Amy. Felt right at home, hard working team, couldn't do enough. Definitely staying again. Receptions staff were more than helpful and I'll be booking again soon

14 of us attend the event on 18th December, Christmas work do. Five of us booked a room. Check in wasn’t a nice experience, although we were helped by friendly staff, we were disgusted that there is a £5 parking charge per car. That was £25 spent on top of the room charge of £49.50 plus £7.50 for breakfast before we made it to the rooms. We had a
Family room which was spacious and badly lit. The other two rooms were
smaller and still badly lit.. All rooms lacked amenities, no tissues, no fridge/mini bar. They did, however have irons and hair dryers. Apparently information about the hotel is online, not in room.
The event itself was a poor attempt
for a Christmas party. The man behind the computer played music via a lap top and didn’t interact with the guests at all; in fact he looked as though he didn’t want to be there. The sound quality wasn’t
good either. Soup to start was delicious; but the main course was less than average and the pastry on the two veggie dishes was so hard we couldn’t cut in to it.
Staff cleared plates when people were still eating, took away peoples’ drinks while they were dancing, even full glasses. We all felt disappointed with the evening.
Those of who stayed nearly missed breakfast as it finishes at 9:30 and is cleared away within minutes.
We won’t be returning either to stay or attend another party night.

Not that great for young children. No bath in room. Staff great though. And if there’s a wedding on you probably won’t sleep due to guests wanting to continue their party in their room. The staff throughout our trip were really good though, they sorted out our noisy neighbours at 3.30 am and helped entertain our children in the pool!

Lovely meal in the bar and grill with exceptional service from the staff even after a really busy afternoon. Bethany as always was friendly and helpful and answered our questions. The restaurant was clean and food served quickly.

Overall my wife & I had a pleasant stay .. however there was a few things that could be improved on !! Like the sheets being clean & not leaving dirty flannels in the bathroom .. the bar for drinks & food is very expensive but it’s in a good spot to either get in to Mancheser or have a walk round Bury where there is plenty of pubs & restaurants at a more reasonable price!!

Had an overnight stay /dinner with my Daughter and a SPA treatment the following morning.

Room was a bit tired, expected better as Hotel bar and restaurant are so vibrant .
Spa was exceptional, will return, maybe for the day and not overnight

Staff in restaurant were lovely and food was great.

A lovely room - big comfortable bed, fab shower and the Dyson fan was much appreciated. But missed some attention to detail that would have made all the difference:
glasses as well as cups in the room - and more sugar sachets
Room service breakfast as we were a long walk from reception
More attentive service at breakfast - no tea / coffee or eggs were offered on first morning - I made sure to ask on the second
Good, friendly service for the evening meal though.

Warm friendly welcome with smiley staff
Quick efficient check in and check out process
A lovely room, big comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and overall nice decor
We were attending a party and stayed overnight, drinks as you would expect in a hotel are more expensive, however the overnight stay with breakfast included was very reasonable
Good choice at breakfast and plenty of it, all fresh and piping hot
Walking distance into Bury town centre
Would recommend and visit again

The hotel attracts a lot of young people to its bar and grill and was noisy until the early hours on both the Friday and Saturday. The noise was our main issue. The hotel is rather impersonal with all automatic check in and out. It isn't the cleanest either with discarded drinks and litter all around he stair well in the evenings. Sunday was predictably quieter. On the plus side there is easy parking, easy access to the M66, comfortable beds, and a modernised bar area with multiple TVs. Rooms small but fine, ours had a good walk in type shower. No wardrobe but some drawer space, and a few hangers.
