Summer is supposedly here, but we are not exactly experiencing the most conventional summer weather.
Good old England has been blessed with a June full of rain and wind, which tends to put a stop too those planned trips outdoors. A toddler covered in mud and whinging because they are stuck in the pram is not my idea of a day to bond as a family, or you may have the problem of a teenager complaining because they would rather be at the cinema with their friends than drenched from head to toe wandering around a lake.
Cambridge Regional College has it covered. Whether it be something to keep your youngster happy, or an activity to keep your hormonal teenager interested, there is something for everyone. It is a fun day with a twist - an Olympic twist to be precise.
You can get involved in many activities, including climbing the fabulous climbing wall, testing out the spin bikes and rowing machines. Perhaps flying through the air is more your thing? With this in mind, the trampolines are probably the activity you will look forward to. There will also be a mini-tennis coach on hand to help enhance your tennis skills.
Running alongside the Olympic influenced events, will be activities and performances that are a little more relaxed, such as inflatables, felt-making, face-painting and even bricklaying. You are sure to find an activity for each family member to enjoy, and the best part, the weather cannot ruin your day.
If you have a child who is due to leave school and is interested in attending college, this is also a chance for them to talk to tutors and have a look around the college.
