Cambridge graduate and local resident, Alex Rushmer has made it through to the final three contestants on BBC1's prestigious Masterchef competition.
Alex, who lives in Cambridge with his girlfriend, fought off hundreds of other culinary hopefuls to make it through to the final of the popular television show, including cooking for the Women's Institute and facing comment from leading restaurant critics.
The trio will now travel to Rajasthan desert in India to face a three day challenge cooking for a Maharajah and his family, before being asked to run their own restaurant and cook for esteemed chef Alain Ducasse.
The final takes place on BBC1 this evening from 9pm. Further information can be found on the BBC website.
