Cambridge Train Station is to benefit from a £2.2million cash injection following the construction of Cambridge’s cb1 development, which has released the funds.
A brand new, larger ticket hall and a more ergonomic interchange area to get passengers from buses, bikes and taxis are on the agenda for improvement, following the payment from Brookgate, the Property Developer and Investor working on the project.
So no more early morning clashes with the disgruntled taxi driver and the sleepy cyclist!
In a time of increasing discourse over public transport, yet also a period when it is most encouraged for the good of the green both in the planet and the pocket, the improvements will be a welcome step to enticing more people to use the trains.
Keep your eyes out for work starting on the station soon.
