13 of Cambridgeshire's 25 libraries are facing an uncertain future as they go under review.
The branches in question include; Milton Road and Rock Road in Cambridge, Bar Hill, Comberton, Cottenham, Great Shelford, Linton, Sawtry, Warboys, Willingham and Yaxley.
These libraries will be asked if they can take over the running of their services, finding savings and local volunteers to secure their future. If no such money or volunteer service can be found, the libraries could face closure.
The chosen libraries have been deemed to have a low community value; a value calculated on the size of population served, local social deprivation and distance to another library.
The decision comes as the library service needs to save £3.2 million over the next five years.
