Celebrate Earth Day in Cambridge
18th April 2012

April 22nd is Earth Day, a day that marks what is thought to have been the start of the modern environmental movement.

Initially begun in the USA and inspired by the devastation from a massive oil spill in 1969, the movement has gone from strength to strength, with 200 million people involved by the time of Earth Day 1990.

And for 2012, the founders are hoping for 'a billion acts of green', including the planting of a million trees.

And you can get involved here in Cambridge at Heffers bookshop between 11.00am and noon.

Children are invited to come and listen to stories about the environment as well as planting seeds to take home and grow.

Learn about being Green and how to help protect our planet this Earth Day in Cambridge.
