A festival organised by a Chesterton community group takes place this weekend aiming to celebrate the spirit at the heart of the local area.
The Chesterton Festival starts on Friday 25th June and takes place over four days with a range of live music and entertainment available, including a picnic and family fun day.
Other activities include a floral display in St Andrew’s Church, an outdoor community service at Chesterton Methodist Church as well as a funfair, adventure zone and dance arena with displays from groups around the world.
Sally Roden, organiser of the festival, outlined: “The festival is about celebrating community life in Chesterton and bringing different groups of people and organisations in the area together to organise the programme. We have had contributions from local community groups and organisations, businesses and individuals, which is fantastic, including a laptop computer which will be raffled on the day.”
Festival programmes are available from schools, community centres, churches and local shops. Further information is available from Brown’s Field YCC on (01223) 420309 or St Andrew’s Hall on (01223) 306150.
