The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be paying a Royal visit to the City this week as they arrive to be greeted by the Mayor on Wednesday.
Councillor Sheila Stewart, the Mayor of the City will welcome them to the Guildhall where they will also be introduced to the High Sheriff of the City. It will also be a special day for some of the winners of the recent 2012 Cambridge News Community Awards, held last month.
After their welcome, the couple will make an appearance on the balcony of the Guildhall, which is sure to draw a large crowd in the market square. They will then take a walk through the market square to the University Senate House, where around 400 people are expected to be at a reception.
Councillor Stewart said of the event: “It will be a joy to welcome them to our city and I do hope that they enjoy the time they spend with us and I know the Royal couple will be assured of a great Cambridge welcome.”
