Half a dozen play areas in the Cambridge area are set for a major facelift after developer-funded contributions of more than £400,000 were made available for the project.
The recreation sites at Petersfield, Flower Street, Jesus Green, King's Hedges, Peverel Road and Abbey Pool are all due to benefit from the investment which will include developments ranging from improved fencing to re-landscaping areas and investing in play equipment, and adding safe bike paths and other activity areas.
Investment of this kind has been proved in the past to have wide reaching benefits for both children in an area and the community as a whole, as well as helping to promote health and wellbeing.
Residents in those areas can comment on how the proposed designs for the six sites, until the 3rd of January on Cambridge Council's website.
