Cambridge Council is offering grants to help people reduce both their carbon footprint and their waistline.

Whether it's losing a little extra weight in time for those summer holidays, saving money on petrol and parking or making a positive contribution to the local environment, whatever the reason people want to ditch their cars for their feet or bikes, Cambridge Council is offering grants of up to £5,000 to groups dedicated to encourage more people to walk or cycle, to improve walking or cycling safety and help combat cycle theft.

If you can show that your group will be able to use funding to help the council archive its goal of using walking, cycling and public transport as the primary methods used to travel around the city, then you could qualify for one of the grants available.

If you would like to know more, or find out who to contact, then visit the Cambridge Council website.
