There is a long standing, if ill fitting, stereotype that students are scroungers, or don’t pay their way whilst climbing the learning ladder, but now those so quick to label may have to eat their words following the fees hike across the country for students wishing to study at university.
Cambridge will be charging the maximum £9000 a year to grace their historic University halls, and Anglia Ruskin has followed suit with plans to charge £8000 per year for its services.
Rumours of an £8300 price tag were denied by Professor Mike Thorne, Vice Chancellor at the university, stating that prices would not exceed £8000 but needed to reach this amount to keep going.
The subject of fees will be put before a board within the next two months, so prospective students can expect a definitive decision after this time as to the true cost of future studying!
