Remapping. Chip tuning. What?
I don't profess to be a motoring aficionado. If I get in the car and it starts first time, I'm happy.

Through ECU (Engine Control Unit) remapping, which is also known as chip tuning.

“Basically, your vehicle has a computer that controls the way it behaves. This computer uses maps to control your car's turbo, fuel injectors, ignition coils, exhaust gas recirculation valve and various other sensors and devices.
“A remap is an optimised file that contains modified maps. It is uploaded into a vehicle's engine ECU in order to improve a variety of factors – power, torque, response and fuel economy.”
