The Herne Bay Festival - a nine day celebration of Herne Bay's environment and vibrant community - is coming up between Saturday 21st and Sunday 29th August 2010.
There's something for everyone this year, with nearly 200 events over the course of the festival.
A big plus with the Herne Bay Festival is that nearly every event is FREE.
We have a vested interest in Canterbury for this event, as it is largely funded and managed by Canterbury City Council, in connection with the Herne Bay Festival Advisory Group.
There will be loads of live music, entertainment and performances throughout the nine days of the festival - for a full line up check out the official Herne Bay Festival website.

(From the Canterbury City Council website):
On Saturday 21 August, the opening day of the festival, the music at the Bandstand kicks off with a performance from the Birchington Brass Band at midday. This is followed by acoustic sets all the way until 7pm, courtesy of Belleville, Syd Arthur, Charlie Rivers Band, Lucy Kitt and Josh Bray.
Then on Saturday 28 August, there will be two live music stages – the Bandstand and the main stage at the Clocktower Plaza.
Playing live from 1.15pm at the Bandstand will be Los Salvadores, The Dealers, Cocos Lovers, My Last Mistake and Tom Farrer and the Pharaohs.
Meanwhile, at the Clocktower Plaza, the winner of Herne Bay Rocks will kick off the programme at midday.
They are followed by Luke Jackson, Five Floors Up, Tom Williams and the Boat, Arthur Kay and the Originals, Chillbillies and, from 7.45pm, the headline act Motown Gold.
It closes with the festival’s second display of fireworks, set off from the Neptune’s Arm.
And every night between Thursday 19 and Thursday 26 August, heats for Herne Bay Rocks will be taking place at various pubs in the town.
