Big changes are happening with the UK budget and economy, and many of us are thinking about how our finances will be affected.
A topic most of us take very seriously is the cost of fuel, and we really are at the mercy of Bigger Fish and have little control over it.
However, we can make a difference to our petrol or diesel consumption, which in turn can make a difference to our fuel economy.
The following is sound advice that should minimise your personal spend on fuel, by driving and running your car more cost-effectively.
Reduce Your Speed
Another obvious one but most of us go months and even service intervals between checking our tyre pressures. Tyres will lose around 2psi naturally every month so your tyres could be 6-8psi or more below their optimum. On all four tyres this will increase your fuel consumption by around 6-8% and your tyres will wear out up to 50% quicker. Our fitters regularly see tyres below 20psi when they should be at 28-32psi or more.
