No summer would be complete without a visit to thebestof Canterbury's Business Member Howletts Wild Animal Park.
With over 100 acres of parkland to play with, you'll see all kinds of animals and creatures of all sizes and shapes at this popular Kent zoo attraction.
I remember going there for days out as a child several times - getting stung by a bee once, but that wasn't why it was memorable!
What I remember most is the wonder and delight at seeing animals I only otherwise saw on television with Johnny Morris lending personality to.
Howletts Wild Animal Park boasts the largest herd of breeding African elephants in the UK, the WORLD'S largest captive Gorilla group and Jurassic mine. Visitors can get up-close-and-personal with things like the walk through lemur enclosure and glass fronted tiger enclosure. New for Summer 2010 is the exciting Treetop Challenge, brave this high rope adventure and negotiate treacherous tyres, perilous tightropes, wobbly logs and balancing beams between platforms high in the tree tops. View the park from a monkey's perspective and zoom to the finish on the 40 metre Zip Wire!
For more information about admissions and attractions, check out their website via the Howletts Wild Animal Park feature on thebestof Canterbury. And don't forget to tell them you heard about them right here!
