Harmonie Toros is Professor of Politics and International Relations at the University of Reading and a former international reporter. Her research focuses on conflict analysis and resolution, particularly in contexts of political violence, and the human experience of war. Her publications includeTerrorism, Talking and Transformation: A Critical Approach(Routledge 2012) and (with Leonie B Jackson and Lee Jarvis) 9/11 Twenty Years On: Critical Perspectives (Routledge 2023 ).
This evening’s talk will offer a reassessment of the Munich Conference of 1938, often regarded as a betrayal of Czechoslovakia by Britain and France and a major failure in their respective foreign policies before the outbreak of the Second World War.
