You may have already seen that 11 Welsh towns were named in the top 101 Best Places to Live in Britain by The Sunday Times, one of these being Whitchurch.
Since we’re based in Whitchurch we’re clearly biased, but we’ve put together the 5 reasons why we think it’s one of the best places to live.
1. Home Sweet Home.
In and around Whitchurch you’ll find a style of property for everyone, couples and young families, growing families or empty nesters. You can choose between Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian properties, to more modern houses, flats and apartments.
2. Location, Location, Location.
Cardiff topped the list of the UK’s most transport-friendly cities. Whitchurch offers the perfect balance of a relaxed village community with the excitement of the Welsh capital.
You’re just a few minutes’ from the city centre by car, train or bus. Perfect for commuting, shopping or anything else you want to do. With the M4 and A470 right on your doorstep, it’s easy to get away from the hustle and bustle too.
3. Food Glorious Food.
Feeling peckish? Whitchurch has got it covered. Whether you fancy a quick snack, some pub grub, or something for a special occasion, there’s a cafe, restaurant or coffee shop nearby to suit every taste. It’s even home to a High Class Butchers that’s famed for their award winning sausages and the best burgers in the UK!
4. Feeling Good.
Now you’ll need to work off all of that good food! Get out and about with a stroll along the canal, play a round of golf at Whitchurch Golf Club, take a bike ride along the Taff Trail to Castell Coch, go kayaking on the River Taff or even join nearby Llandaff Rowing Club.
There’s also gym and spa facilities at the Village Hotel, as well as local tennis, bowls, rugby and football clubs.
5. Top of the Class.
Whitchurch’s English and Welsh speaking schools not only received favourable Estyn reports, but they can also boast some impressive former students. Rugby legend Sam Warburton, international footballer Gareth Bale and Olympic cyclist Geraint Thomas all spent their school days in Whitchurch! For families with pre-schoolers there are three local nurseries for childcare and two local parks, as well as Whitchurch library to keep little ones entertained.
If we’ve convinced you that Whitchurch is the place to be, get in touch and we could help you move here!
