The Best of Cardiff were approached with an interesting story about flowers so we thought we would share it with you...
Back in the sixties and seventies they lived by the 'Flower Power' mantra -
who would have thought those tree hugging hippies were actually onto
something?
Flowers have been scientifically proven to lay claim to a whole host of
special powers everything from lifting our mood and boosting happiness, to
improving our performance at work and enhancing our memory.
As the days get shorter and the temperature drops there's no doubting that
we're all in need of a bit of cheering up. It has been revealed that more
than half of all Brits have considered moving away from their hometown to
avoid dreary weather and drab surrounds getting them down.
In response, the team behind website www.funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk
decided to set off on a very special Flower Powered roadtrip across the UK.
Cardiff was one of eight cities visited as part of the tour.
A customised Routemaster tour bus was fitted with a special device to
unleash a Flower Power Shower on Cardiff that saw thousands of petals rain
down to brighten the city - and people's days! A thousand flowers were also
given away to delighted passersby.
If you missed the tour don't worry, you can still get your dose of Flower
Power by visiting www.funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk , where you'll have the chance to win one of 1,000 bouquets.
