Over 200 of the country’s café professionals gathered at The Exchange Hotel in Cardiff on Tuesday July 23, for a memorable night, put on to recognise and reward the best in the coffee industry.
Coffee dominates the morning hour every day, as not many people start their day without an aromatic hot or cold coffee. These awards recognised those specialists that make our coffee look and taste amazing, serving it as a true piece of art.
Moreover, the awards remarked not only the best coffee servers, but also showcased the top artistically informed coffee houses around Wales, whether they are minimalist modern marvels or classic shops with local touches.
The glamorous evening was hosted by radio persona, Polly James. She provided a platform to thank those in the café industry that always have fresh and delicious hot beverages, savouries and pastries ready to be served to their customers, who visit their cafe almost every day as they feel they found the gem they love.
Several of the awards were split into local regions to ensure the diverse range of businesses from across Wales are recognised for providing coffees with artistic presentations and new flavours that make them stand out amongst the rest.
Irfan Younis, CEO of Creative Oceanic said: “Although in our first year, we are honoured by the fantastic response we have had from the public who was so keen to vote for their favourite cafés.
“The cafe industry has grown massively over the past years and we aimed to seek out, reward and thank those who have managed to make a real difference by introducing innovation in this industry.
“The awards also aimed to acknowledge everything that is coffee related and showcase that Welsh people are big coffee lovers. It was lovely to be part of this celebration and we would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their achievements!”
