This month one of Thornbury's Directors, Steve will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 16th. He is running for Ty Gwyn Special School
Ty Gwyn is a special school in Cardiff who cater for children and young people 16 - 19 years who have profound and multiple learning difficulties. Additionally, some of our pupils are on the autistic spectrum and present with severe challenging behaviour. About 50% of the pupils are also in wheelchairs.
Why Ty Gwyn? Well that's easy! Steve's eldest son attends this school and has done since he was 6. This will be his last year in school and Steve would love to raise enough money to buy a lasting legacy for the school, pupils, staff and parents.
Within the school is a small garden and when a pupil dies the parents go to the school and a special prayer is said in the garden. Steve would love to raise enough money to add something to this setting. His son is particularly fond of water and loves to play with his water feature at home, so it seems an obvious choice to add a water feature to the garden.
