Find out all you need to know about sustainable solutions at Cardigan’s third annual Eco Technology week going on now (from Monday, October 8, to Saturday, October 13) at the town’s Guildhall.
This event gets bigger, better and more informative each year and this time there are displays in the gallery and a full programme of activities, talks and demonstrations.
All events are free and everyone is welcome, say organisers Celtic Sustainables
There are displays, information and workshops on a huge range of subjects including:
There are many free workshops and talks from the experts, including Eco Centre Wales.
Talks and demonstrations through the week cover decorating with traditional paints, using sheep’s wool insulation, using and working with wood, building with straw bales, using eco bricks, working with clay and lime.
Heating covers wood and biomass fuel, renewable energy installations. There is help and advice on zero-carbon construction and renovation.
Workshops cover everything from how to build an off-grid photovoltaic solar system, to candle making and wool rug making.
There are tours of local community projects, including Pwllhai, the Eco Shop, Jig-So, CADAMM, Cardigan Castle, including a discussion of archaeological findings and renovation techniques at the Castle.
On Friday morning Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood discusses the benefits of renewable energy for the rural community. And there will be a talk and discussion on Community Renewables - The Way Forward with a panel of experts.
