As one gets older it is good to revise and update one's look and I do not mean necessarily changing one's wardrobe although I have to say, I don't really need an excuse for that!! However it is easy to get into the rut of applying the same old make-up in the same old way, or deciding having moved to the country least was best! For me make-up had become a hassle but with a new business I took a long hard look in the mirror and sad to say it was not Snow white who looked back! so I experimented with the old make-up I had but not overly pleased with the result. In fact I had lost all confidence in how to apply and worse - overnight I had grown older!! aaaghh!! Action was definitely needed so.... as I visit Tranquil Moments on a regular basis for a facial I thought who better to ask than Tina. As luck would have it Tina was holding a special day of Make-up Instruction with a professional make-up artist from Jane Iredale. Naturally I booked in. Now to say I was slightly nervous was an understatement. I had had my make-up done before in a well known department store and came out looking as if I had been caked in plaster. Yuk! and not to say uncomfortable. I also did not want to look like mutton dressed as lamb either - so I informed the make-up artist. poor guy he had his work cut out with me!! But it was truly marvellous. He talked me through each stage discussing all the merits of this wonderful mineral cosmetic as he applied each one in turn. I wanted a light business look which could be adapted for evening. The foundation is the best I have ever tried and is applied with a brush! What a revelation! I have since been able to do this very easily myself and the result is almost perfection everytime. The eye colours were interesting as they had a slight pink tint in the lighter shades and purplish brown in the darker shades. Not shades I would have chosen at all - I have very dark brown eyes! But the finished result was really good and I have since had many favourable comments!! Again the eyeshadows are mineral based which appears to be the new 'in' thing and they certainly felt great and no irritation whatsoever! The look was completed with a truly moisturising lip pencil. The final look not only looked natural but felt really great. I could go on and on but I am not an expert but I do know Jane Iredale Cosmetics are really fantastic in fact I recently read that Dannii Minogue is a fan!! So do give Tina at Tranquil Moments a call tuition too! But I will ask Tina to respond to this and give some hints and tips.
