Ludo Dieumegard a thebestof member and owner of Ludo’s at the Coopers was one of the 16 Chefs who prepared and cooked for a table of 10 diners at the Chefs’ Night Out in Cardiff last Saturday 3rd September, 2011
The Event raised over £100,000 for Tŷ Hafan in an Incredible Night of Gastronomy and Goodwill
The 160 lucky diners who secured tickets for the sell-out event were treated to a Laurent-Perrier champagne reception on arrival, followed by a raffle to decide which of the illustrious chefs would be cooking for each table. You can see Ludo’s menu here.
Event co-organiser David Loosemore, whose daughter, Isabella, regularly attends Tŷ Hafan, was thrilled with the response to Chefs’ Night Out: “After the huge success of the inaugural event in 2010, I had high hopes for Saturday night, and I wasn’t disappointed! The sums we raised were incredible and I’m just so grateful to everyone that was involved, particularly the chefs, their patronage has been humbling and this event would not be taking place without their generosity and spirit.
“I’d also like to thank our guests, who really got into the swing of things and happily put their hands in their pockets and I know that myself, my co-organiser Huw Edwards, and particularly the staff and children at Tŷ Hafan truly appreciate it”.
Perhaps one of the highlights of the evening was the Chefs’ Auction, which provides diners with the opportunity to bid for a chef to cook in their home at a dinner party for ten guests. Ludo was “auctioned” for £3,200
Helen Gibbons, Head of Events Fundraising for Tŷ Hafan added “this was an amazing event to be involved with and David, Huw and their team of volunteers worked extremely hard to deliver a high class, quality event. Tŷ Hafan are delighted to benefit from funds raised at this event and a huge difference will be made to some very special young lives as a result of the generosity shown at Chefs’ Night Out. I am looking forward to next year’s event already!’
