On Friday mornings, you can dance yourself into better shape at the Strictly Fit classes held at Cardigan Guildhall – this is great news as a recent study showed that dance of any kind is the only act of physical activity guaranteed to increase the production of happy hormones in your brain – AND it’s great for your overall health! On the evening of the 20st – also a Friday – Llandysul Christmas Fair will be taking place from 3pm. There will be late-night shopping, the Old Gomer Building will be open and hosting some special artisan producers of varying kinds. Local schoolchildren will be singing a festive selection of songs outside Barclays Bank and A Certain Someone will have a grotto in Tysul Hall where the craft and food stalls will be waiting for you. On Saturday 21st November, Neuadd Y Dderwen at Rhosygilwen will see Kimber’s Men perform. They’re a vocal ensemble performing seashanties and their production “Singing Up A Storm” will be a toe-tappingly enjoyable evening of nautical folk music. The Cliff Hotel at Gwbert will be hosting a Christmas Fayre on Sunday 22nd November between 11am and 4pm. There will be a fabulous selection of locally-made crafts and gifts not to mention mulled wine, mince pies and a raffle with the proceeds going to Cystic Fybrosis. There’s a new Mixed-ability sport club that’s started at Cardigan Swimming Pool Hall every Monday from 2pm. It’s a relaxed kick-about (or similar, depending on the sport-of-the-day!) and a chance to go and have a bit of fun whilst doing your health a favour and is hosted by the chaps from Clynfyw. Wednesday 25th November will be the opening night of Opera Teifi’s production of The Pajama Game, staged at Theatr Mwldan. Cardigan’s Hockey Club is being reformed and training sessions are now taking place at the town’s leisure centre/astroturf pitches on a Thursday evening between 6pm and 7pm. The’re calling on players and anyone who wants to increase their fitness levels to come along and either join the team or use their training sessions as a regular workout.
