Offering a range of services, advice and treatment throughout Carlisle and the region. For individuals and families for whom drugs and/or alcohol use is becoming a problem.

Cumbria Alcohol and Drug Advisory Service (CADAS) is a charity offering residents, families and employers of the Carlisle area with confidential support, education and treatment programmes for drug and alcohol addictions.

The primary aim of CADAS is to improve the lives of those affected by addictions through the reduction of harm caused through the use or misuse of alcohol and drugs.

Carlisle based CADAS is an Independent Provider of Quality Care and it seeks to ensure that the appropriate help is available to those involved with an addiction to alcohol or drugs. For both the addict and those close to, the range of help available includes:

  • Information
  • Education
  • Training
  • 1-1 psychosocial interventions
  • Parent/carer/family/employer support services

CADAS offers addicts and those around them with an opportunity to make some positive changes in their lives. It runs successful rehabilitation and treatment programmes and provides good pathways back into employment through safe and supportive rehabilitation.

In addition, CADAS raises community awareness about addiction to alcohol and drugs through its education initiatives thereby building in a grass roots level of understanding of the problems that addiction can bring.
