Handel's Messiah at Christmas I Carlisle Cathedral, Wednesday 11 December
  • Carlisle Cathedral, The Abbey, Carlisle, England, United Kingdom
    CA3 8TZ
  • Wednesday 11th December 7:00pm until 9:30pm
Following their sell-out tour in 2023, critically-acclaimed opera company WildArts (***** Opera Now, **** The Guardian) bring Handel's legendary telling of the Christmas story to Carlisle Cathedral.

Performing their solos from memory, star singers bring music and story to life, with staging devised by theatre and opera director Tom Morris (Breaking the Waves, Dr Semmelweis, War Horse). The musicians of the Wild Arts Ensemble, playing on instruments similar to the ones that would have been around when Handel was composing his masterpiece, are directed by Wild Arts' Artistic Director Orlando Jopling in this enthralling production.
