Visitors to National Trust special places across south west Wales will have a spring in their step with the amount of adventures to be had over May half term.
From busy bees at Colby Woodland Garden and mini beasts at Dinefwr to sheep shearing at Llanerchaeron and Tudor trails at Tudor Merchant’s House, there is plenty of family fun to make the most of the school holiday. Every family day out helps National Trust care for its special places for future generations to enjoy.

Busy Bees: Wicker Bee Building Workshops

Get crafty this half term and help build a giant wicker bee in the Walled Garden. Join a wicker artist for a guided workshop as you get involved with weaving parts of the bee together.

Join Act Your Shoe Size and members of Narberth Youth Theatre for creative play and storytelling workshops at Colby Woodland Garden. Solitary bee Manon is getting set for the opening of her hotel for bugs, Gwesty Manon, but needs your help with the finishing touches.
There’s lots to enjoy, from hands-on bug hotel building and meeting Manon and her friends to storytelling and games.

Bank Holiday Tractor Tours

The tractor tours will take you into the field for you to see the rare breed White Park cattle up close. One of the team will accompany you so you can learn about the majestic animals and find out why they are so special to Dinefwr.

Go on a slumber adventure at the Tudor Merchant's House to see how our predecessors would have slept. From nightly rituals to the origins of sleeping tight, the townhouse will tell the story of both the merchant’s family and their servants. Smell Tudor supper in the kitchen, gather herbs from the garden and help create the ultimate recipe to a good night’s sleep. For 40 winks like a merchant, visit the top floor to discover tester bed luxury and a very superstitious routine.

Llanerchaeron has an action-packed half term with events and activities every day to keep both you and your kids entertained. Join a ranger on a bug hunt, build a den, get planting with a gardener and watch the flock of sheep get their annual haircut.
