Apollo Cinemas in Carmarthen and Port Talbot are exclusively offering music fans the chance to be a part of music history, by screening Simply Red’s last ever concert, broadcast LIVE from London’s O2 Arena.
The momentous sold-out show, which will be screened on 19 December, 2010, at 20.30, is the final leg of this year’s global Simply Red Farewell Tour. Simply Red fans in South West Wales will be able to share in all the emotion and excitement of the night live exclusively at their local cinema screen at Carmarthen and Port Talbot, in high-definition and 5.1 surround sound.
Fans are invited to celebrate with Mick Hucknall and the band as they perform favourite hits like If You Don’t Know Me By Now, Stars, Money’s Too Tight (To Mention), A New Flame, Something Got Me Started and Holding Back The Years for the last time after a remarkable 25 years of touring.
Mick Hucknall, iconic lead singer of Simply Red, adds: ‘The final show after twenty-five mind blowing years. What an adventure it has been! We want to share this, our last show, with everyone around the world who has enjoyed our sound throughout the years. It will be a night to remember for ever whether you’re with us at the concert or watching us live in the cinema.’
Alex Kardoun, General Manager at Apollo Cinemas, Carmarthen said: “We’re thrilled to be showing the last ever Simply Red concert exclusively at our cinemas in Port Talbot and Carmarthen. This is a fantastic opportunity for the people of South West Wales that have missed out on getting tickets to the O2 to be part of this piece of musical history.”
