I have to admit to not knowing a huge deal about Rugby but enjoy the game. It would appear from this match report from Llanennech RFC that as soon as Ricky Williams was injured the team lacked cohesion. What do you think?
BONYMAEN 26 LLANGENNECH 25
LLAN THROW IT AWAY
Playing against the elements in the first half and leading 8 – 7 at half time through a Rhys Davies try and a conversion by Ricky Williams, this should have been a signal for a successful second half. Llan showed their intention at the start of the second half when Ricky Williams scored a try converted by Aled Roberts. Unfortunately, Ricky was injured scoring the try and had to leave the field of play. Then Aled Roberts kicked a penalty and at that stage Llan led 18 – 7. Bonymaen then replied with a Mike Jones try, converted by Richard Cunniffe to make the score 18 – 14 to Llan who then increased their lead by an Ellis Phillips try converted by Aled Roberts to make the score 25 – 14 which should have secured the win. That all changed in the last fifteen minutes completely, dominated by Bonymaen mainly through the dominance of their pack. Llan sorely missed the influence of Ricky Williams who suffered a double fracture of the jaw.
Bonymaen then scored a try by Luke Myatt converted by Richard Cunniffe and then in the final move of the match secured the win their efforts deserved with a try by Richard Williams to make the score 26 – 25.
