Carmarthen What’s On Bumper Half-term and Halloween Edition
Autumn is really taking hold now – the trees are gradually changing colour and kicking piles of leaves as you walk along is a temptation hard to resist! Half-term is finally here, along with Halloween, so let’s see what’s on offer to keep us all out of trouble up until the start of November…
The National Botanic Gardens at Llanarthne are still open until 6pm until the end of the month as part of the Going For Gold initiative and if you haven’t been, now really is a stunning time to visit. Every colour imaginable to nature is there and it’s a great way to get the little ones to engage in the great outdoors (not to mention give them the chance to run off a lot of steam and have a sound night’s sleep). They’re also hosting two Ghost Walks on Monday the 26th, the first at 7pm but please note that booking is essential. https://www.thebestof.co.uk/local/carmarthenshire/events/feature/going-for-gold--the-national-botanic-gardens
The National Trust invite you to do something decidedly spooky at Dinefwr on either Friday the 23rd, Saturday 24th or Sunday 25th with their unmissable Torchlight Tour of what is actually the Trust’s most haunted Welsh property. Early evening tours are perfect for little ones (7+) with magic tricks and mild spooky tales, whilst the later tours (for those 14+) promise to pack a fright, with ghoulish ghost stories told along the way. Fright fans also have the chance to spend the night in Newton House on Halloween itself- you’ll just need to pack your sleeping bag and nerves of steel - with a delicious breakfast served up the next morning to all those who make it through the night... https://www.thebestof.co.uk/local/carmarthenshire/events/feature/history-and-hauntings-at-dinefwr-park-and-castle
